Hey all

I am getting a new detector and need to get a pinpointer. Which would use choose between the two? These are within my budget. I am just talking about the regular xpointer, not the max.

The Nokta Pointer b/c it comes from a more reputable and/or well-known company.

I was leaning towards the Nokta. I heard they have changed the frequency so it does not interfere with the Simplex. The question is how do we tell if your buying the updated model? Anyone know?

With the impression Nokta made on me yesterday following receiving their Simplex, I would look elsewhere. I was considering one of their pinpointers as well, since I bought a simplex for water use.

Not any more.

MineLab Profind 20 is waterproof.

Don't get the Minelab Pro-Find 20. If you're getting the Minelab one, get the Pro-Find 35 instead.

Ok you have to elaborate more!!

Poor quality

Main reason I was looking at the 20 was being waterproof. BBH site claims waterproof to 5', but kellyco claims splashproof.

Also for a pinpointer, I don't need all the bells and whistles (and the additional cost of them). Just indicate when I'm close, I don't need a pinpointer to determine between ferrous/non-ferrous, I have a detector for that.

The Pro-Find 20 is a Pro-Find 35, with fewer features. But the 20 is waterproof to 5 feet.

The biggest advatange (in my opinion) of the 35 over the 20 is the adjustable sensitivity.

EDIT: and if cost is a major factor, there's the Pro-Find 15. I think it's basically a Pro-Find 20, but it's only splashproof.

Someone needs to tell kellyco their ad is incorrect, lol.

If that's the case, I'm back to looking at a PF20. Thanks
