Its been a long time coming but I finally reached a goal that I had set for last year. Still its better late than not at all. The goal was to reach 1800 Silver Coins dug. It was accomplished yesterday with digging the final two coins needed for the goal 1799 was a Rosie and #1800 a 1936 Merc. I had needed 10 coins when I made my last thread and it took 2 and a half months to get them. The time frame included a 7 week drought on Silver. The biggest hunt (4 Silver's) was a shared outing with Dewsweeper where we returned to a park from my childhood days. In that hunt I found a phone and successfully returned it to its appreciative owner two days later. I hope maybe the good karma of its return will keep the droughts away for a good while. Anyway on to the next. Trapper

Congrats on eclipsing the plateau and the silvers! Been a down year for myself as well. It has taken me 8+ months to dig 10 silvers  let's hope the remainder of the season is more fruitful for the both of us. Good to see you post Trapper, happy hunting!

Trapper, congrats on achieving the 1800 benchmark of those desirable silvers! That's in a top shelf class by its self. You certainly put the effort into it and to show the results. But I have to ask, did you use my camera for those pics? lol You used to take exceptionally sharp pics! All kidding aside, well done on all accounts.

Quite an achievement, 1800 silvers. Wow, thats a milestone with bragging rights. Congrats Trapper and good to hear you broke the slump you were in. And well done on the phone return. Losing ones phone is akin to losing ones wallet 30 years ago, so I'm sure you made that guys day. Good luck. Mark

Excellent work Trapper! That is one heck of a Shiny Coin total!

Slow year detecting for me here, work, hot weather, schedule etc etc, but hope to get out more this late summer and fall.

Congrats! I do believe in good karma too.
Your reply is appreciated, thank you. I hope the Karma thing is real as its been some trying times recently.

Thank you Jeff for the kind words. Trying times this last couple of years sure has limited opportunity for sure. Hope some better times are coming as I sure miss those really productive outings. Odd thing I have had 3 outings with Dewsweeper and almost half my years total of Silver have come in those hunts. Think maybe I should get out with him more often.
Good story.
Really not much of a story Tom. Glad you enjoyed it. Just really frustrated at my productivity and lack of effort. Trapper

Congrats on meeting your goal! I remember you had a strong start to the year in the spring, sorry to hear it slowed down. At the rate you find silver, pretty soon you are going to have to move to have new detecting grounds with in reasonable distance.

Trapper, you never cease to amaze me amigo! Congratulation on filling that 1800 silver goal you set for yourself. So we going for the 2000 goal now!?!? Huh? I know you can do it my friend. But like someone said, you might have to move some where else! I don't think you left anything but pulltabs back at the Tundra!

Amazing milestone you reached there Trapper, lots of dedication and some frustration in the dry spells but you made it . congrats on all the coins .
Ya know, I put all my coins in a drawer, not in any order, just randomly thrown in..and I can open that drawer, look through them and just about remember everyone, where I found it and what machine.. of course I don't have 1800 tho... Lol

I appreciate your reply and your honesty, thank you. I use to set up my shots on a tripod and with set lighting. Also cleaned up my finds. Guess I'm getting lazy in my old age and for sure my hands are not as stable in use of the camera. I will try to do better in the future.

Very kind words Mark, thank you. Its nice to finaly reach another milestone, seemed a long time ago getting to the last one. Back in my glory days they seemed to be a common thing. Got to gather my wits again an find some more healthy initiative so the next one arrives somewhat faster. The Phone actually belonged to a 11 year old and his mother was extremely happy for its return. She drove over 2 hours to get it back. Guess I don't understand today's parents. Buying a $800 phone for a youngster and needed either his prints or hers to operate it. I had to charge the phone for over 2 hours to just accept calls.

Thank you David, your comments are appreciative. Seems like around here with the covid thing it shut down people making things a whole lot tougher. Hopefully thing get back to some type of social normality. Been chasing my childhood this year and it seems there is some Silver in doing so. But the cost of travel makes that difficult but its adding some real joy along with some very good memories to the outings. Trapper

Thank you for your reply Trevor. The goal was to reach it last year but things like home and health put the clamps upon it. Covid really shut down a lot of it. So I'm pretty happy to at least get there. This year the cost of travel has limited the amount of hunts, as most of my productive spots now are a two hour drive. So the goal now is just to get the next one and when its over I hope it is a whole lot more.

Appreciate your confidence in me Jose and I thank you for it. 2000 and beyond would be very nice but I still need to get to 1801 first. I can't afford to move, since my heart attack I change my life style for health. We, Wife and I both became vegetarians and we grow 80% of our food supply. Gardens and fruit trees along with berries and herb and spice plots would have to be restarted if I'd move and at my age I don't wish to start over. My best spots are 2 hours away so I'll make the trips but just not as often.
Congrats on the milestone buddy. That's a lot of silver coins.
Thank you Jason, your comments are always appreciated. 1800 Silver Coins is a lot and I still have every coin and at the end of the year I'll take a picture with them again in my treasure box. Anyway I don't think I will be a threat to catch you anytime soon.:lol:Trapper

Thank you so much for your kind words Andy. Reaching this milestone seemed to be a big challenge as things for me have really slowed done in this hobby. Lack of new grounds and a lot of home life changes have been the culprits. Truly sad to hear of your battle with Cancer. Surely that is a more difficult situation to face. My wife and I will pray for you. Please keep in touch as you can. Trapper

Way to go Trapper!
That's a heckuva lotta silver:shock:
Appreciate your reply Matt, thank you. Not producing these days like a few years ago but I'm still chasing the shine. It has come about with some fantastic adventures and with some great friends.

Some very kind words Pete and I thank you for them. I still have every Silver that I've dug. Store them in a wooden Cigar Box. By taken pics and posting them here on the forum along with the stories of the adventures I have a pretty nice record all the way through my time in this hobby. Trapper

Congratulations on your milestone for siler coins! But really only 1800! Now hopefully you will get your biggest piece of copper tomorrow when you get here. With any luck it will be 1800 pounds.
