Greetings from the Low country of South Carolina went out today with the new machine.Being new at detecting thought I would try the default place everyone goes. The good ole Oceanside . It was not 4 minutes and I had 2 other detectorists swinging in the general area.
Not finding more than 2 clad pennies and enough Michelob Ultra bottle tops to stock a brewery. looks like the MX Sport is a new buy next year if i desire water games

The temps were getting in the low 90's so i decided to get into some turf. Off to the recreation center and immediately here comes a worker. she lets me know they have sodas and water inside if i need to come inside for a break i am welcome to do so. So i got a few pennies and a chirp of 89-94 signal. Took my digger moved some sand and a used syringe is looking at me. Tossed it in the dumpster then continued. Dug a foil signal and discovered the famous can slaw.Once it hit 93 degrees I was home bound love the new machine. Hope I can get alot more time with it as its more fun than i expected. Box needs a disclaimer hobby is very addicting

One thing i do wonder is in all metal it's bombarding me with all sorts of signals and noise. What is the best way to use this mode and is it far better than the default other programs?

Many would tell you to run it wide open and dig everything since you are still new to the hobby. It gets you used to the machine and what the machine is trying to tell you. If you are getting too much unexplained signals, that is interference from EMI and you should be able to turn the sensitivity down till the machine gets stable again. Hope this helps! :welcome2:

Welcome from Florida!!

not sure about your machine, but on mine, I put it in coin mode until I could somewhat understand what I was digging before I went into all medal mode. You can then start differentiating the good from the bad. At least that is what helped me.

the 30kv power lines running above the property would be the reason for the EMI being 200 feet away i was more than likely still too close
