Here it is Allen although i got the king wrong,Henry the Third not Edward the first

Nice coin Simon.

You mean it's an Edward 1st, Not Henry III ?

I know what you mean Simon.
When I found the Henry III penny, I didn't know what it was until someone told me.
It's not as if it's the sort of thing you find every day.

Finds of this type are few and far between for me, and I'm
not very good at identification. I usually wait until I get home
then look through the book (Spinks).

Here's another picture taken last week, of our Finds Liaison Officer (Caroline), recording
and photographing the coin.

What beautiful finds Alan! Now I'd get pretty excited at finding something that old. The coin looks very interesting with its patterns and shapes. I haven't seen anything like it first hand, and hope to one day see some amazing finds in the real. I still detecting around for a gold sovereign: that's what I dream of finding one day! As they say, keep on keeping on detecting!

Allen that is the only really decent coin that i have found (that i know of).I have found what is the remains of a roman coin but it is in such bad condition that it cant be dated (although i know it would be at least about 1800 years old but i dont look at it like that because to me it looks like nothing.I had some one who knows about roman coins look at it and he said it is one, until i find one that can be recognised by me and dated then that hammered Henry 3 or Edward the 1 is my pride and joy so far.I have found a very nice 1792 2 pence which is a massive coin, loads of Victorian coins and a couple of french centines, but the silver penny is my best.
