My Equinox 800 Take (Tests and Commentary)

I really think now after today, learning Equinox in heavier iron, All Metal may be the way to go. Smooths the machine up some. The ferrous reporting not hard on the mind and ears either.

Btw, if weather holds, I plan on going to a freshwater beach. A beach deemed "Virgin" Equinox territory. Lol

About all beaches are though.

Does that make it similar to the AT Pro Iron Audio? It sounds like it's very different than All Metal on the Rutus.

Looking forward to reading more as you learn, TNSS!

Okay,
Just tied to check Equinox on a $2.50 gold coin a friend of mine has. One problem it has a bezel around it. So reading not accurate. But did swing the fine gold chain over the Equinox coil. ID reported ID # 1. Part swept did have little small clasp.

Here is pick with ruler giving clues to how long the handle is for hand placement, etc.
Remember the ruler is extended at the bottom lower than a user can place their hand.

Maybe you could do some Gold Ring, white gold, 10,14,18,22,24 gold, Plat , # ID test's, thanks for the number's , Earl

I have done some. Numbers are all over the place generally 5-22.
Big gold class ring read 22 for example.
Another big 18k ring men's read 18.

Can't put much stock in numbers for gold.
Where a person maybe can put some stock.
Beach hunting and you see a 1 or 2 on the meter= possibility of small thin gold chain.

I should say here, testing items like coins, etc, depending on orientation,I see some small deviation with ID shown on meter. Could be helpful to keep this in back of head when detecting- especially the so-called cherry pickers.

I will entertain any special request.
Only one I won't honor right now is sending my Equinox to you. Lol

I like to share info.
Can you tell?

Thanks

I see the 14k wedding bands are ringing up in the nickel range at the beach, take a us nickel with you, good info., from Gary, thanks for posting his video, are you having fun yet, to bad you don't have a Go Pro, live hunt's a plus, Earl

Nice job TNSS. Still waiting on mine to be shipped, but in the mean time I'm enjoying reading your posts. I couldn't do much right now even if I had mine.. Got this dang flu. :(

The next 2 pics I am showing show rod adjustment, just in case any real tall or real short folks are concerned with rod length being able to be made right for them to use. Note in pic, detector rod bottom end is on the left in pic
I am 70.5" tall or 5ft 10.5 inches tall.
The pics show where my rod is adjusted for me.
I could use my detector with rod extended one more hole if I wanted to.
Based on my rod setting, there are 5 more holes for adjustment to make longer, and 3 holes to go shorter.

I agree with tnsharpshooter, gold numbers are gonna be all over the place,no matter what machine you use.Want gold, dig it all.lol..But the numbers seem spread out which makes sense according to the different sizes.Good post!

Here is a pic of bottom of wireless headphones.
Showing controls and the charge port.
Not waterproof.
Charge port stays uncovered too.
Only thing I don't like about headphones.
The little lights are hard to see.
Btw, the lights where they are can't be seen in the pic's angle.
The small hole you see over by controls is for hard wiring wireless to detector in case your wireless battery goes TU.

Thanks, means a lot to me.
Get WELL soon, I want to hear your Equinox take too.
Valuable to me and others.

Info not very organized here, but is here.

On weather hold for field time.
Figured I could get a few more things passed to folks as far as Equinox.

Friendly reminder here concerning wireless headphones supplied with 800 model.

It is possible for a person to leave on, thus killing your battery unknowing.
See page 10 of manual.
Top right hand corner in Equinox screen depicted. See the little pair of headphones. When your headphones are turned off this will disappear.

The tone heard when turning headphones off is not very loud. To me anyways.
It might be a good practice to get in habit of turning off wireless headphones first, then verify in your detector's screen they are off before you turn detector off.
