My Deus 2 feedback and commentary, comparison videos, videos, pics

The D2 beach sensitive mode was supposed to fill coffee cans with small gold.
Where's the BEEF?

Any beach hunters with the D2 even have a thimble full?

I found such a small piece of gold this year with my Equinox, I wonder if a D2 would if even heard it?

I tested a hinged gold earring i use to test my detectors since it is hard to detect. Found it with a Nox. Tests so far with all the D2 settings it has to scrub the coil. Waiting on a couple pieces of micro gold chain to test. But from what i am seeing the D2 isn't going to be all that good on small gold chains. It had a bit of a hard time with a broke gold ring i test with as well. It did pick up on a natural gold nugget i test with though. But so does the Equinox.

I love this place, come for the detecting, stay for the laughs!

Trying to figure out what object would come in on Deus 2 in the 11-23 ID range. Doing testing on small foil it ID as 24/25.

I did some live tests on the beach today. Salt water. Beach settings will block out a lot of iron and not allow you to change that fact. Someone who runs the Nox on horseshoe like i do knows you can figure out more iron you don't want to dig by the sounds. Deus II just goes quiet on a lot of iron in beach. Wasn't as impressed with it again today in any beach settings as i was in the gold field program i installed. Now that was a different matter. Plus i was testing it at a high EMI beach. Air tests in a yard i don't waste time watching.

So you could pretty much skip the iron but had to dig everything else as there is a slight chance it could be au/ag?
I video I saw the guy was slowly revealing a ring he thought might be gold but ended up being SS... as in the detector couldn't tell the difference 100%

You guys are all way too crule to this guy. If you don't like him don't watch him. He's having fun and enjoying what we do just like everyone else is. Let him be.

You guys want to see Deus2 finds here's some. I have found 9 silver coins in areas that I have hunted the last 2 years. And our season in northern Wisconsin has just started.

Great finds with the Deus II. I agree with you 100%. He is a smart guy just trying to help people and show the strengths and weaknesses of the new multi-frequency machines.

I have found 12 silvers already with Deus 2 in areas I hunted a lot previously with other detectors. Only one IH, one junk ring, several wheat heads, and copper memorials, Australian half penny, 2 tokens I think, and 3 nickels and quite a lot of higher conductive relics and the good ole clad too.
Now I didn’t video and show all and for good reason.
It’s called NDA.
I had other equipment with me in area I couldn’t take a chance on accidentally showing.
Yeah.
Folks run their mouth like they think know what I am doing or not doing.
Thing is they don’t have a clue.

Maybe one day I will be able to show the equipment.

Most dont know the history, but it's all good. Nice finds!

Nice finds.
I notice it’s been cold and snowy up your way lot later than normal.
Good luck this season.

Yes sir! It took forever for spring to come. But on a positive note we have not had to mow lawns yet. Maybe next weekend

I can send you some grass and weeds from my location.
I am restricted now to detecting on manicured settings.
Still good though.
Better than nothing.

Keep sharing your success with your detector here if you wish.

I have had a full Deus 2 with 9” coil for a week. I have had a chance to coin and jewelry hunt with it in high mineralization (9 to 12 bars, 12 is full) and have been impressed with its accurate target IDs on coin sized targets of all conductivity and its effective depth in the soil here which is about 8”. After 8” coin sized targets are 00 or with audio response only. That is similar to Equinox and Legend performance here. Deus 1 would become beep dig at 3” here and completely lose dependable target IDs of any kind deeper than that on most coin sized targets. So Deus 2 is a huge improvement over Deus 1 for that scenario and it does well in modern trash too.

Where I am concerned is with very small sub gram target response whether in air testing or in the ground testing. Since I use my Deus 1 a lot for sub gram gold prospecting, I was hoping that Deus 2 would at least have comparable performance especially with the FMF 9” coil. That is simply not happening.

I use #9, #8, #7 and #6 lead shotgun pellets along with .04, .08, .15 and .25 gram tiny gold nuggets for most of my air and in the ground testing.

#7 pellets are the standard that many gold prospectors use since we find lots.
Here are some simple in the ground results for a #7 pellet based on audio only.

Deus 2 9” coil, default GoldField except for sensitivity of 88 due to mineralization = .75”
Deus 2 9” coil, default Mono except for 45 kHz disc. -6.4, sens. 88 due to mineralization= 1.25”
Deus 1 HF elliptical default GoldField except for sensitivity 88 and 31.3 kHz. = 2.5”
Deus 1 HF elliptical default GoldField except for sensitivity 88 and 80.8 kHz. = 3”
Equinox 800 Coiltek elliptical default Gold 2 Multi except for disc -7 sensitivity 18. =2.25”
Equinox 800 Coiltek elliptical default Gold 2 40 kHz except for disc -7 sensitivity 18. =2.5”

Any opinions and thoughts about why these results are happening would be appreciated.

So far i don't hit anything on beaches from 10 to 28 on the scale. Gum foil is usually around 30 to 32. If you dig gold chains you know some cross into the iron range on a lot of detectors. The gold i found with a Nox that is hard to find has the same issue on a Deus II as it does with the rest of them. I don't think you are going to see many miracle gold chain finds in the small range from what i see so far. If you watch a few tests with detector vids you can sometimes see the person wants the other detector to fail. So far i can't create a miracle at the beach. But everybody is different. As far as people posting the new silver found with a DeusII they missed with everything else. I went to one of the most hammered parks in the U.S. that gets detected 365 days a year with a Whites V3i. Got four mercs in a day. Conditions were just right. Never got any more silver from that park after that day so sold the V3i:lol: But one thing is for sure. Most of us aren't looking for a gold ring beside a bottlecap laying on a concrete slab. Knowing where you are Steve i would hold off and see what Minelab comes out with next. There are guys wanting to just sell you something. Someone already brought to light white coats skewed test with a bottlecap and a gold ring. When someone gets something for free the tests seem to work out in a biased manner sometimes. It is just odd sometimes when someone's test garden with the previous miracle detector used to work. Then when a new one comes out the old one can't find it anymore. It is called a biased test garden!

You doubt Mr. Mightbe gold? How dare you... he has spent over 5 thousand dollars of his own money.. traveling to bring you his skewed tests... shame on you

Folks desiring smallest gold on beach with Deus 2. There are videos that have been done. Folks will notice it is the 9” coil using Deus 2 that has clear advantage not the 11” coil. Sound produced by detector not the same as on a gold ring either. Whispy sounding with some waivering. This tonal behavior happens with junk smaller jewelry too. Based on videos I have watched done by multiple folks.
Odds are most folks are running 11” coils using Deus 2 on salt beaches for obvious reasons (coverage and depth) advantages.

Also.
Something a Deus 2 user might do. Take Deus 2 with 11” coil. Do depth comparison with same gold ring in both wet salt sand and dry sand (no salt) and see if there are any depth advantages in either setting. I have hunch depth advantage will be seen in wet salt sand.
Even compare the Nox in the dry sand good ring buried tests. Bet the Deus 2 and Eqx are very near one another here. But add wet salt sand to equation big difference. Advantage Deus 2.

Btw this if it happens with Deus 2 when going to wet salt sand. It is not a first. Tarsacci mdt 8000 does this according to Mr Danksowki in wet salt sand.
