I wasn't crazy about the Deus stock shaft it has to much coil flex and it's to close to my feet.I like my coil out in front of me when I'm swinging. So I ordered the Anderson carbon fiber shaft and it's perfect!Next I had to deep 6 the wireless headset it came with,They have to be the WORST headphones I ever put on.I got in touch with SoCal.Tony and luckily he was just starting to get the parts he needed for the Deus 2.I got them lastnight and I gotta say their probably the most comfortable set of headphones I have ever put on.He really does a fantastic job on building headphones. If your Interested in getting a pair here is his info and what he said to me...

"I now build two versions of my waterproof headphones:

1. The “Divers” have vent and drain holes which allows water to rapidly drain from the cups.

They are specifically designed for scuba, snorkeling or free diving.

2. The “Waders” are identical to the “Divers” except that I omit the vent and drain holes. This essentially eliminates any wind noise.

They can still be used under water, it just takes longer for them to drain. Perfect for dry land, wading or use in the rain.

My headphones are modified white MSA left/right earmuffs.

The speaker drivers are custom made by mounting and sealing 2” piezoelectric elements to stiff polymer plates.

Because they are shaped to the face, my headphones are extremely comfortable. They excel in noise attenuation, sound quality and volume.

Not to mention the white looks cool 😎"...Contact him [email protected] the "Nox army "left a few good targets around for me to find...GL &HH Jim....

So are you using tether that came with unit with you new rod? To keep from losing remote in event it falls off.
If so how are you attaching to rod?

Tony is top notch! Great looking set-up.
Now with a proper hearing device in place you WILL be able to learn the D2.

How do you like the Anderson shaft? How big is the grip and is that made of foam? I was thinking of ordering one myself. I also have a set of Tony's headphones for my deus 2. Great headphones!! But I have extra large hands and was curious how long the grip was on that shaft before ordering one. Thanks

Hey Bill, I just measured the handle its 5"and is made of foam.Ive had no issues with the Anderson shafts.I have had 1 on my Xcall for 8yrs now always in saltwater looks brand new other then sand scratches. Great product in my opinion and I love how it gets your coil way out in front of your feet...👍
