I am not brand loyal, the only major manufacturers metal detector I dont own right now is a Garrett.
With that said I have had the opportunity to put a few hours on the Apex and I find it to be a very impressive metal detector. I would take it over an AT pro all day long. The Apex handled heavy iron better than most metal detectors I've used. Working through heavy iron and easily locking onto good targets 6 plus inches with ease.
The biggest problem with the Apex in my opinion is they put Ace in front of it. Nothing against Ace series but most detectorists think of entry level performance and price. Although I haven't done it but if you put the Apex against an AT pro, I would put my money on the Apex.
