I think I mentioned it here before, but in case you missed it, the Microsoft Live Search rebate program is for real, and it works! I have used it to buy almost $1000 of stuff (Tesoro Cortes, extra coil/shaft, digger, bag; Bosch router; other misc. Christmas gift stuff) and have earned about $265 worth of rebates. That is an average rebate of 26%, money that will be returned to my pocket! I can't imagine buying anything off e-bay without using this rebate, at least as long as it lasts.
The steps are simple...do a search for "Live Search," the Microsoft search engine. Enter your product search term in Live Search. It will give you lots of hits, but look for the one at the top...the one that leads to e-bay. It will be marked with a note about Live Search or Microsoft rebate. Click through to e-bay and look at the top of the page to make sure you see the "eligible for rebate" notice and icon. It will show you the present discount...normally 25%, but 30% yesterday. Enter your search term on e-bay and look for "Buy It Now" items (the rebate only works on Buy it Now, not on regular auctions). Find what you want, click Buy it Now, and look for the note that you are eligible for the rebate. Pay using PayPal (the rebate only works if you have a PayPal account and pay with that). Bingo...you have the rebate credit posted to your Microsoft Live Search account. The rebate(s) will be paid back to your PayPal account after 60 days.
Read the plan rules for details on how often you can use the rebate (once per session, with an hour limit on your session; if you want another item using the rebate, sign out of e-bay and do another Live Search to begin another session. I did this four times in 30 minutes last night.)
Rebates do NOT affect the price the seller receives.
Note that you MUST (1) sign up for a Microsoft Live account...no charge, (2) use the "Buy It Now" option and (3) pay using your PayPal account. All are necessary or you will not receive the rebate.
