I did a 25 minute hunt at a park that must never had been detected. I set my M6 on cherry picking settings and hit a 24k ring at 3 inches with a solid 77 no matter how I came at it. The VDI never changed. When I first saw it in the plug I thought it was something else because it looked too yellow. This is only because I have never dug anything 24k.

I'm still trying to research the KT 10 mark. Anybody have any ideas?

A first

First member ever to make the banner on his first post.:congras:
I hope the 2nd post is an introduction.

I must ask a question. Has this ring been verified by a jeweler? That VDI of 77on such a small gold ring sounds high. I found an 18g/18K ring for an owner with my V3i and it only hit VDI 53.

Just askin'

24k ring acid tested

Hello Martin_V3i and others,
You post a good question and here is what I did. I scanned the ring with my MXT Pro and also got a vdi of 77. I did an acid test with 22k acid and the gold never faded away. I have read that some 10 dollar gold coins hit in the range of 70 to 78.
I haven't had a jeweler verify it yet and I also have never dug anything 24k. It would be interesting to hear from those who have and see what machine they used and the vdi that rang up. When I get some time I will have it verified and post the info.
Thanks for all the great comments and questions.

Have you had a jeweler test that ring yet? If I thought I had found a pure 24K gold ring, I definitely have it in front of a jeweler.

Nope. I work high rise construction and have been working long hours this past week but I'm hoping to get it checked by a jeweler this coming week. I'll post the results when I find out something.

24k confirmed

Hello again,
I finally had the ring tested and it is 24k. As for the mark of 10 KT, the jeweler did not have a clue. I allowed them to file away a portion of the top layer and it all tested 24k.
I did run the ring over my Tesoro's and it rang in a high tone on them. I recently dug a 10k ring that rang in at 6 foil on my MXT Pro and it gave me the same reading on my Matrix M6. If anyone else has found 24k, please chime in and let me or us know the reading it came in on and size.
Thanks and HH.
