This is an answer I'm so sick of hearing. "If you fall while walking across the lawn and hurt yourself, I'll be liable." Oh yeah, that happens all the time. Metal detecting is SOOO dangerous... I know one guy who sprained his thumb.
I'm not a litigious person and I wouldn't sue anyone because I tripped and hurt myself on their property. I think that's true of most detectorists.
I was wondering if it is possible to make a waiver form that you can offer to the landowner? Something like:
"I ______________ hereby grant full immunity to ______________ (the owner of the property at ______________________) and all of his/her associates, for any accidents or injuries that I might suffer while metal detecting on the aforementioned property.
Signed __________________________ Date ___________________"
