I think the mods do a good job here. Moderators should be able to have their own opinions too.
I know of one detecting site where you best better not even challenge a mod or it will get you a vacation. I called one emotionally compromised one day and that was it for me.......

I get where you are coming from... members here are tired of all the hoppla over a detector... if they wish to expel some of it and as long as its not an attack on another member or detector bashing... they are free to express themselves...

Its like gun threads each member is allowed their opinions without being attacked for it...

Calabash digger does earn money from his video channel. More views, more money. Views of his videos that display ads make more money for him than videos without ads which I think are the majority of the ads.

He went from just standard videos of him out detecting, to more compares of different detectors in his test garden, to diving detecting videos back to detector compare videos but it appears with some strong bias to his current favorite detector.

I am thinking the pattern here is to just get more youtube views and adjust his delivery of commentary to increase those views by being a bit more controversial lately. And I think those who make negative posts about him causes more people to view his videos to see what all the fuss is about. And the latest by the lovely spokesperson for the Legend will provoke even more views on his youtube channel.

I personally don't learn much from CD/s videos. I learn so much more from videos by Rattlehead, Idxmonster and others like them who go out and hunt, show you the TID's allow you to hear the signal tones and in advance try to call the target. And show the good targets and bad targets. This is really how detecting works. Of course now with my new CTX3030 Rattlehead's and Idxmonster's are most appreciated.

2-3 years ago I was into those youtubers that produced good Nox 800 videos. And if I get a new detector in the future, I will be looking for good informative videos on my new detector model.

My detector is better than your detector videos and comments are not very useful to me.
