Insane & Off the Chain !

Craig I would appreciate it. This seems to be a similar format to findmall and it happens all the time over there. To some it may not be a big deal but I can't see any details in the thumbnails and the blowups are way too big and distort the detail. Again thanks. Mark
Just so you know Mark this is the same platform as Treasure Net... I haven't been to Find Mall since Mr.Bill left...

Way to go! You are trying to catch up top the top hunter in Cali. I think that gold coin is brass? Send it to me and i will test it with my 8 year old testing acid:lol:. Wonder if your gold chain simply lost the W or S clasp? I know some of those try to be an exact troy ounce. One of the 24k ones i found was 30.1 grams. As you know a troy ounce is 31.1. Figured some of it wore off on the persons shirt since it's so soft.

I will check into the pictures, it works fine on my end though....

UPDATE
Seem to be an issue related to styles, go to the bottom left, try Default style, see if this fixes the problem.

Vlad, on my screen after clicking on one of the pics I went top right and clicked on an icon with what looked like 6 small thumbnails. That enlarged the pic to a good size for viewing. Thanks. When it comes to computers and metal detectors I never rule out user error. :?: Have a good evening. Mark

Good to hear!
If you click on the picture, it might let you zoom in even closer yet, clicking on the pic again will zoom you back out. Hopefully this makes sense.

:dingding:That's an awesome amount of beautiful gold! BIG CONGRATS!!!

Won't go into a bragfest but 8 hunts in a row with at least 1 gold. Includes a couple doubles and triples. I know my streak will end soon as conditions are rapidly changing. Have put in many hours and been lucky on some finds with better hunters nearby. Only a few rare individuals are willing to risk it in massive surf , high tides , pouring rain or in the dark.

No need to show or go into the diamond rings , bands , 30+ silver coins , gold tooth , endless clad , sinkers and trash because....anyone can find those right ?🤣

The 1906 5 pesos gold coin was found yesterday about 1' down and sounded just like a deep nickel. It is only the 2nd gold coin I ever found. The 32 gram chain is 22k. Found in the crashing surf with Real Ratfink nearby. 1 scoop and I could see it dangling from the side of the hole as a wave came crashing in. I immediately jumped on it with both feet. 2nd scoop nabbed it , with a foot of it hanging out the scoop. I haven't yelled on a fnd in decades as I ran up the slope and we both had an "OMG" moment. The chain is 24" long.

Here's where it gets tricky. The chain has no clasp. But the color and weight is high karat. Acid at 18k would start to fade after a minute. My jeweler who is very good at repairs had some older analog machine with a needle gauge that read 14k. Off to my 2nd stop , the We Buy Gold Place. His acid said no way this is 18k and he wouldn't be comfortable buying it without his brother ( who also gives me better prices). Off to my 3rd stop , the coin store. His acid test showed the same as mine. So I waited 2 hours for his guy to show up with his yellow gun digital analyzer. Google it. These go for $20-30k new. Within 5 seconds he says " solid 22k". I sold it on the spot. Long story short , this guy who tests metals for a living says to change out your acid every 6 months if you want to be remotely accurate. Mine is 5 years old and the coin shops was 2.

These recent hunts flashback to my youth decades ago where hunts like this were a bit more common. Anyways , HH & GL out there !
Ps...pics ain't that good. Learning this new app on my phone.
I told KOB that he deserved to find all he did because he traveled far and put in more hours than any of us (Compass is a close 2nd). I risked it in the massive surf one day with these guys and must say it was quite the experience. Seeing that gold coin right after it came out of the ground was a beautiful thing. Glad you took the time to square away the purity of the chain....

Thanks PRB. It's not the travel that gets me as I often do alot of scouting and physically searching spots that cams don't offer. It's the traffic that does me in. It took me 2.25 hours to drive 48 miles on 1 trip last week. Though I had some rather excessive hours put in , I think Compass beat me out. There were a few days I couldn't physically go and he did. I was up there a few days ago. Still some targets , but nothing like before. My 2 gold ended up being junk , ending my consecutive days of gold at 8. Glad to share the gold coin find as you were the one close by. Can't mention the words that came out of the mouth of 14kgold when he rolled up 20 minutes later. Still a bit shocked that I found it but I've moved on.
Totals for the 1st 3 weeks of the year : 23
pieces of gold , 51 silver coins and buffs , $120 clad. Alot I didn't bother to count were Wheaties and zincs , quite a few silver rings and junk jewelry. Also had pounds of lead sinkers and untold trash. They will be great memories I will not forget with you all.

Ps. Carefully look over your piles of clad because that's where I found more silver dimes , war nickels and buffs after I did a heavy acid wash cleaning.
