I think I picked the worst time

To get my first metal detector! Got it a little over a week ago, and only got to use it twice (enough to get hooked) before the freezing temps and snow showed up. But looking at the forecast, it's actually supposed to get up into the high 40s later next week here in Jersey, so might still get some use out if it yet this season!

40s are good!! You can always layer more on. Better than in the summer when you reach a point where you can't take anymore off. Or shouldn't, as that is frowned upon

I understand. I got my Compadre in mid November. I got to use it a few times. Then two things happened it got cold and my car went in the shop around the same time.
I live across the street from a tot lot but it got too cold to go out.
