Hi all!
Got some oldies in my 2-1/2 years of diggin.
1620s 4 reale Mexico Cob
Undated issue of Portugals King Johannes IV Silver 400 Reis, (Cruzado)
these were minted 1640-1656, a VERY rare coin especially without a later revaluation countermark
Now let's move on to the first silvers minted in the British Colonies, Massachusetts Silvers by John Hull.
Silver Pine Tree Shilling, Noe-1 Variety, dated 1652, likely minted 1670s.
Silver Oak tree Shilling A Noe-3 Variety R-6 Rarity 16-30 specimens known.
Hammered Copper Two Tornois from 'New France' (Canada) 1643
And a fairly modern coin, but since it's gold, I'll include it.
1780 Netherlands Ducat.
And Maybe, Just Maybe, a Pewter example of a 1776 'Continental Curency',
does not match 1876 or 1962 restrikes, proper weight for an original.
Got several 17thC brit coppers, show those another time.
HH all! the oldies are still out there if you research your sites!
Best digs, Herbie.
