Hello all. I picked up my first metal detector (Minelab Vanquish 540) about two months ago and have quickly become addicted. I've been hitting my local beaches in the Santa Cruz area mostly. I've built up quite a collection of tent stakes already, but still waiting to find anything to brag about. Until then, I'll keep my jealousy in check hearing about everyone else's finds.

Grew up there, and my father still calls it home too. He used to hunt all over Salinas with his old school Whites. I'm getting him back into it now.

Well worth a few dollars to get both. Quite a good education on ocean beach hunting.

With all the money you are collecting, I think you need to publish some of your beach hunting tips and techniques for hunting CA ocean beaches. Just a suggesstion. Maybe collaborate with KOB.
