I have a question I was wondering if anyone has the GARRETT EDGE DIGGER DIGGING tool. Mine came in a package deal I was wondering if anyone had any problems with it I use it only one day really in some pretty hard dirt but notice that the handle rubber grip came unglued and actually punched a hole through the back rubber portion of the handle. I ruffled up the surface of the handle and reglued it and added a washer to the back of the handle to prevented from breaking through it again.

I used my GED for about seven digs and the rubber grip split at the end and came off to reveal the hollow handle. The grip was NOT glued on at all. I called Middlesex detector sales (where I bought it) and they sent a new on right away. In the meantime I glued a plastic end cap on mine and used gorilla glue to glue the grip back on. The second one arrived about four days later. Two digs later the same thing happened. I contacted Garrett. Their response was
"we are redesigning the digger and will ship one out to you as soon as we get them." They appologised for the inconvenience. Garrett has a two year warranty on the digger. In the meantime the one i fixed is good to go. (for now) and the second one will have a modified 'T' handle on it when I get around to doing it. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply.

Same problem here. Poor handle design. Something they should have caught before any of these left the factory.

I put a washer over the end to cover the sharp end of the handle, covered that with a plastic furniture leg end cap, then glued the rubber handle back on. Should last a long time now.

Not what I expected from a $40 tool.
