Hello all,

Just got my first hunt in of 2017. Had a little break in the action here at flight school so i decided to hit the dirt and see what i could find.

I was using @tnsharpshooter 's advice with my set up. I started by making a new program with the XP Deus with the following perimeters i am using V4

Disc -2.5
Audio report 5 ( i left this at the default of 3 because i could not find this setting)
Volume in headphone module 6
Freq,,in heavy iron 18khz
In cleaner places looking for coins 8khz (used for most of my hunt )
ID norm off
Reactvity 2 or 2.5
Silencer -1
Sens 93
Tx power 2
Full tones

Since this was my first hunt with the XP Deus i decided that cracking on come clad at a nearby tot lot would be a good warm up. oh 8khz zincolins were hitting mid 70's and anything worth digging was 83+ dug some pennies and dimes and one quarter and a bunch of can slaw and foil. was good to see how the machine functions. Man i is fast! even swinging between the poles of the playground equipment i was still able to find targets just inches away from the poles.

Now that i had a rough idea of what i was after it was time to head to the lake shore.

The area is a mix of late to mid 1960's expansion and some newer development. i headed for the area of the shore where the picnic benches were all concrete. Tones of 49-57 signals these things were screamin loud. dug the first one, pull tab, dug the 2nd one, again pull tab. this continued for around 45 minutes and 20 pull tabs later. you know, ol navy is a slow learner. i started igoring those after a while and started digging anything 48 and below and 72 and above with good sounds. started in an area hitting lots of 1961-1972 pennies so i knew that the area might have a silver in there. time started running out and i was a bit discouraged that i hadnt hit anything other than clad all day. half heartedly swinging on the way back to the car i got a repeatable faint signal. The XY screen was showing uper right to lower left strait line and it sounded good, but faint from all angles. Got the lesche out and got a sizable plug removed. pin point, nothing. ive got at least 6 inches of plug out at this point. rescan with the XP, its still in there some where. dig dig and pow i see it, an edge of silver staring out.

I knew at that point i had a silver. Got her out of the hole and the grin on my face was so big it almost swallowed my ears with the headphones attached. i had my first silver of the year and the first with my new XP Deus - A 1941 Mercury Dime in really nice condition.

Hope you enjoyed the hunt as much as i did and see you next time
Very Respectfully,
NavyDT
