I'm new to the detecting. I've had a detector for a couple years, but until I recently retired, it was essentially unused. So, today was my official 6th time out, and my third visit to the same town park near my house. I've found some coins (nothing silver and no wheaties) on all three visits to this park, but today, near the end of my treasure hunting excursion, I hit upon a nice little gold ring. It's 14K plumb gold, and looks like it's got 5 small diamond chips in it. Looks like possibly an engagement ring, but aside from the 14K info, no name or initials inside. It was about an inch or so below the surface. Happens to fit my wife's finger, so it's now hers.

Congratulations on the gold ring, FLOOD. That's a very nice find and, the fact that it fits your wife is icing on the cake!

Congrats on the gold, can't beat that for just the 6th hunt ever. And then, go and give it to the wifey, the rest of us are just on the sidelines watching you play:yes:

Hooked

You found your first gold ring, and my guess, your hooked on metal detecting. There are a lot worse things you could get hooked on, so enjoy hunting. That is a sweet ring and nice job giving it to your wife. Hope you find many more. I hunt for coins almost 100% percent of the time, and I average maybe two pieces of gold a year. Congrats
HH everyone

Way to go!...and hopefully more to come!

I found 3 gold rings, and a gold pin in 2021. I dont think Ill ever come close to doing that again.
