Lack of wild animals in rural Philippines
Don't know about the area where Ken lives , but the area where my wife's family has a house over there is a abundance of stray cats and dogs. That helps keep the mice and rat and most likely snakes away. The abundance of the dogs and cats is mostly due to them running loose and constantly breeding with no population control. Back in the past from what I have heard the strays were not as big a problem because many on them ended up being eaten for lunch.
I am very surprised that I even seen a turkie. Over here , anything that moves is lunch. Most of the wild animals over here are almost going. They have no hunting laws here. You don't even see many rats..
