If you ever walked through one of those fish markets you would want a clothespin as well. Most towns have a open air fish market just like that ,I have been to many of them near my wife's family home . Some times you will also find a lot of hand made crafts in the same area.

Make sure they throw in free food coupons to their restaurants !

American style fried chicken is a growing business over there, with a growing middle class in the Philippines . My brother -in-law has one up and running now with his family . They are invested in several family operated business over there. They are getting a second one set up that we will be investing in with my wife's other brothers that live here in the states. Hope to get over to see the whole operation next year on vacation.

Great pictures Ken ,gives the viewers a good idea what the local rural market place looks like in the Philippines . A cross between a farmers market and a flea market . Always some thing to see and bargaining to be made if you are lucky maybe even some old silver coins.

Philippine toilet paper

Well, here it is. We ship many boxes of items to the Philippines for us to use. One of them items is toilet paper. Our boxes were going to be here in November. Well, it is December and no boxes yet.

I go to the store to get a supply of T- paper. To start with, it cost more per roll than Wally World. We still had a few of our rolls from home. I opened up this package of butt wipes. Their rolls do not compare to ours. To start with, the card board tube in the center is very large compared to ours. Now, it is not as wide as ours either. :?: I can see this causing a miner problem. That is not all yet. The rolls are a little more than half as big as ours. Than it is very thin. And they think it is priced just right.

These rolls will last me about 3 times to the crapper. Than you have to use a hand full so your fingers do not go through the paper. I don't want to think of that.

Maybe this story will make head lines in the New York Times..:laughing:

Hope you all get a kick out of this one. It just ain't funny...

This tolet paper could be a ROUGH issue to deal with over there , when your boxes get there you might have to lock up any extra when you leave, to be sure you have plenty for the start of next trip. This last group of boxes we sent to the Philippines got there on time but due to congestion in the ports , were delivered later than expected. You are right about having to pay a arm and leg for decent tolet paper over there. I also learned the hard way you have to take your own to most public restrooms over there. I wondered why my wife had about a 1/2 roll in her purse. Used a public restroom in a modern mall no tolet paper .
