Got this idea from my friend Marcos and decided to build one this weekend.

Wilson Push Golf Cart was the base with all the bag carrying plastic pieces removed, bottom shaft shortened and 90 degree pvc piece used to raise and hold eTrac shaft in place.

Used foam pipe wrap to widen the tires and make it even easier to roll on the sand.

Works great, can grid well on the beach by following the tracks.

My only regret is that it will rust fast. If I like it I will build one out of an aluminum cart next.

Total investment = $35 and 2 hours. Longest task was filing down the PVC to make a groove for the shaft.

Now all I have to add is a beverage holder, umbrella holder, and Go Pro mount. Then everyone will KNOW I'm crazy!

Now that's different, I do mean that is a good way. Can't see using in the woods where I go but then again I don't swing the Etrac tank either. Nice job putting it together.

How do you swing it back and forth

Grid searching on a beach you don't need to. Simply moving over the target will detect it. Reach the end of the section you want to grid and simply put the tires in the tracks from the first search. You cover everything just as well that way plus the weight is practically zero.

When you hit a target you can simply move it back and forth with the handle to pinpoint it.

yep

Nice for dry sand, that is about it, if you want a killer wet & water Bob, get a Sunspot 920IX 4th from the right, happy hunting bro., nice to here from you, Earl

How about a motorized unit, remote controlled unit, or even robotic. Then you could sit down under your umbrella, enjoy your adult beverage, wait for the beep in style.

That is dang cool! Way to go.

On a side note I think I've sat watching your avitar monkey playing the guitar for far too long this morning

I can see three coils on that rig. The middle way out there and the other two on the side. Lol set em far enough apart so no interference.

The lightest with a pointed lip is the 4th from the left Stavr M-9, but not the best, Stavr scoops are lighter, but SunSpots finished product is better quality, a SunSpot is heavier, but better built with a life time warranty, made in the US, weight thing is not much of a difference , when weight is needed to insert the head into the sand without having to pounce on the back plate, less work, after long hunts , less pain makes a difference , happy hunting, by the way , i missed my etrac & bought a new one, I have noticed no difference in depth between both etracs I have owned, I was thinking CTX as a replacement , but i already own waterproof machines, hunt with a guy using one, and have not seen a huge difference between both machines other than a GPS:roll::laughing:, a heavy battery that has short life, limited coil selection, high dollar for parts & repair costs out of warranty, and no Pitch squeal on the Silver, so another etrac was in need , happy hunting , Earl

That eTrac you sold me is great. Solid performer. I had and sold a CTX because I just don't get in the water that much. Glad you got another one. I had a HEAVY scoop before but it was round and not like the Sunspot scoops. Need to get one. NOT carrying the detector makes it simple to carry the scoop.
