Equinox 800 detect ed shaft

Just wondering if any body else has had this issue.went to the beach yesterday swung my 800 a couple of times and the coil goes flying off, the piece at the base of the shaft that holds the coil on popped out of the tube. ran to local store bought gorilla glue and some electric tape to try to salvage the trip after already having paid for parking. But after a couple of swings again the coil flew off . Decided it wasn’t going to happen so I went home .

Never seen that before. If it is out of warranty you might be able to use marine appoxie to fix it. You might also find one reasonable for sale on this site. Good luck.

Maybe try getting a small diameter nylon screw, drill and pin it with the screw.

Get another tip from Detect-ed, cut the shaft and glue it in place. Presto!

That should have been totally fixable with gorilla glue. You probably didn't have enough time to let it cure properly. I know what your saying about already paying for parking. Sometimes I put my standard 5 hours into the machine and after 2 hours I want to try a different beach if there are few hits. We pay $3 to $4 an hour down here......sucks.

Contact the guys at Detect Ed and I'm sure they'll get you sorted. I had a similar issue with my carbon fiber D2 shaft and they took care of it right away. Great customer service there.
