It is sad that the one beach hunter with an Equinox is Surf Master, who goes treasure hunting like once a year... mostly just annoys people on the forums all day.

I heard the "I won't reply to you anymore" before and you still do and still will.
That's right, I don't hunt anymore because of health issues. Always remember, I used my equipment and found gold. You on the other hand just slept with your equipment and ONLY had dreams of finding gold.
I always wondered though when you were going to post the gold your found in your dreams....bet it was some nice stuff, huh.

Surf Master used to live 230 miles from the beach with pet's , no place to stay, now he lives 10 miles from the beach in a big house with land, Surf Master now finally can beach hunt , unlike other's who live step's from the Stink Mud, Surf Master is now happy regardless of what the furious five , who gave me S--- for 6 week's , only because he wanted to try out another manufacturer's scoop, even though he had 4 of the Sponsors scoops on here, didn't matter, than later discoverer's one of the 5 guy's not mentioning the screen name , was using Stavr scoop, not the sponsor's scoop, i got to tell that person, who i hunted with in CT, thought was a cool guy, is nothing to me now

One of the differences between the 600 and 800 is the 800 has a broader window for setting the recovery speed. The lowest settings are supposed to help with deeper targets ( so Ive read ) and the higher the setting the faster the recovery time which helps in high trash areas. But the highest setting on the 600 only equals 6 out of the 8 available on the 800. It depends on just how quick 6 is on the 800 , but I am wondering if the 800 might offer an advantage in some really trashy areas.....that quick reactivity may really help separate dense targets. I don't know for sure how much of an advantage , if there is any at all , but a fast as possible retune seems to be a good thing especially if buying a small coil for trashy sites is in your future. But then again , the highest setting on the 600 which is only 6 on the 800 may just be lightning fast and all that is needed.
Depth potential and sensitivity on both units seem like they would be equal since the higher frequencies used for gold are not deep penetrating. I believe stavr is correct in his assessment of the 40 kHz setting , it works best for shallow targets and is not good for depth.
