Just a quick catch-up since my last post, which was back in October.

November was slow. The month started off pretty good with a nice double hoop 14k earring in the water. The beach was still eroding then with nice rip currents, but then the beach got sanded in bad, and has stayed that way. Since then, I've made just a few silver finds up on top of the beach.

Late in the month I picked up a nice little diamond engagement ring from a parking strip, the first gold ring I've recovered from a strip, probably because I never used to dig tabs while I was shooting the strips for silver coins (the Mercury is from a strip. The Rosy is from the beach before it sanded in, also my first silver coin from the beach). It's a small, but classy ring.

It's been so sanded in the last month, I decided to scout some inland parks.

What a great decision! Park hunting for rings has been banging this week; my best parks week yet! I could only make 2 quick trips, a total of less than 4 hours searching but what a productive time it was, with two nice rings coming to light. In fact, one of them is in a class all it's own. It's an 11.29dwt., 5mm wide, size 14 Platinum band! It's so huge, that when I first saw it yesterday, I wasn't sure if it was a wedding band or some sort of industrial fitting! Seriously, check the video.

Tuesday, I unearthed a nice 18k white gold wedding band, size 10, 4mm wide, 3.47dwt. That was my first white gold band.

It's been so much fun, I can't wait to do it again!

Platinum ring is wider than a quarter, play the video, it's short

Compare the size 14 platinum band to the size 10 white gold 18k band!

sorry about double post....

Sorry for the double post. I had no idea the earlier one had posted. as you can see there are broken links in that one is why I didn't post it. But it did post somehow. This later post, which I made without knowing the other one had posted, has all the photos.

Wow, that's a great haul! You must be happy with that pile of loot.

You're in Japan! What's it like metal detecting there, if you are able? There must be some good ground there, but probably hard to access?

Wow you got just about everything anyone could wish for there!

Congrats!!!

Actually, a big diamond is conspicuously absent. A honker diamond is pretty much the holy grail down here. I was detecting late in the morning on a weekend on South Beach earlier this year. By that hour there were a lot of people walking by,up and down the water's edge, but I just kept swinging the coil. A gorgeous, tall, statuesque blond in a well-filled bikini and her teenage daughter stopped to ask me what I was looking for. She was from Scandinavia or Germany or Europe someplace where they all speak English with an attractive accent. Despite the fact she and her daughter both had gorgeous bodies, it was the huge diamond ring on her finger that fixated my attention. The stone looked all of 5 carats. I had no doubt it was real. I pointed to her ring, and said, "That's what I'm looking for right there." She stopped smiling and quickly turned away, and practically took off running.

You must have ice water in your veins! I would be shaking so bad I couldn't run a camera. WTG!! Congrats and HH
