I have been doing a lot of different things lately.
I don’t Read all threads on this forum.
I only belong to 10 forums.
Not all about metal detecting.
LJS has been doing well.
But I don’t read all his posts or threads.

You seem to be trying to paint me as being partial person.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.

TN... there is no need to import anymore people who are doing good with the D2... my friend owns one... I know how many gold he has... he has a little ways to catch up to me but season just about over next stop dirt... I had gone to the place I scored all the gold and 2 platinum... earlier this month... they wanted about $60 to go in... oh yeah I'm gonna pay that not...

Plus my local beaches once season opens for beach users I can't hunt them.. as long as a lifeguard on duty I get kicked off...

If it was $1000 , it's still not worth it. Waaaaay to many problems. See Gigs latest ? Big issues in blacksand. Besides , what does XP charge if you want to upgrade on coils ? Yup , boo koo bucks.

For a thousand I would snatch one up even if its off season for me.. I'm a miser I like good deals and I don't have to deal with too much black sand...

what is the better deal... a Deus 2 for $1000 or 150 gallons of heating oil for $960 ... will a Deus 2 allow me to take a hot shower?

No, a deus 2 will allow you to take a COLD shower

Seems like they don't have a very good resale value... I have seen them sell for as little as $1250 most are in the range of $1300...

Thats a pretty good used prices. I paid a little over $1300 new for my Deus 2. Most dealers are selling under $1400 new so I'd say if you are seeing them used for $1250-$1300 then they are holding value very well. I am not saying it's the best detector out there but out of the 100 or so detectors I've used since 1978 it is in the top 2.. someone else may say near the bottom. Just how we all are. What makes a detector something we like? You would have to break down the needs of each individual. Weight, wireless, deep, waterproof, fast, and want targets is it good at finding etc. Butter pecan ice cream is my favorite but you will get plenty of different opinions on that too. I love my 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 Lariat but loved the Toyota Tundras I've owned also. Our country is going to !!!! and gas prices are setting records daily but people still seem to be mad over a guy making videos ...I personally don't have a problem with anyone as their opinions are just that, theirs. I hope noone near me buys a Deus 2 or any of the top machines lol.

I plan on trying one but my beach season is over... why spend the money now? I'm very interested in whether it will find anything a few spots I have hammered for years...

As to the one was banned I could care less what he thinks of me... What I do not like are his childish lashing out at this forum because he doesn't like others having a difference of opinion other than his again that is his problem...

Nothing he says will affect how we run this forum... my advice to him is if he doesn't like the way its run then stop coming to it and lurking here...

Also cant forget the market is in a weird spot.
Gas is high and we may be heading into another recession.

With the cost of inflation ratcheting up, we have less $$ to spend on hobbies.
I hope the lower $$ detectors is the trend that will keep going or at least stick to somewhere around 1500$ for a flagship. No way I can justify another 2k$ detector purchase and still remain married

My SUV get about 18 mpg. Most of my good permissions are 40 miles round trip so 2 gallons or 4.39 x 2 = $8.78. One of my civil war sites in west Georgia is 92 miles round trip. 92/18 mpg = 5.11 gal x 4.39 = $22.44 (no way will I spend that kind of gas money on a trip to Dallas, GA any time soon. Why because food and everything else has gone up so don't have lots of spare $$$ for my hobby any more.

Yes we are in for a recession. Recession always follows a period of very high inflation that has been given to us by our politicians. Our congressmen/women can screw up a *et dream without even trying.

I'm in the same boat. Close beaches for me are about 40 miles r/t. But if I do my normal exploring it's around 180 miles r/t. I was doing on average 3 trips a week. So multiplied.......I can't do it anymore. I don't find gold on every hunt , nor do I drive a Prius.

Diesel here in my town in CT is $6.59.. yours is a bargain
