Anyone have dealings with this guy? Myself and others are still waiting on orders placed 1-2-3 months ago. No replies to emails, no tracking numbers. Just a confirmation on the transaction (money taken from credit/debit card) Thanks
 
Nope never heard of this outfit. But if what you say is true, it would benifit other folks to give a heads up on it though.:waytogo:

The guy needs to disable his web store if he’s falling so far behind on orders that the same complaint is persisting across several months and he’s not responding or communicating in any way during that time. Sure, life gets in the way for all of us and interferes with activities and tasks, but when you’re collecting money from the general public for promised goods and services on-line, a seller has clearly defined regulations to follow to avoid violating the law. What’s happening with Don Botting and his Detecting Doodads business isn’t fraud (as someone suggested in the other thread listed above), because I doubt there is a designed intent to scam people - this was a legitimate business, though he did claim it was a one man show and a side-business to his full time profession when he was making the rounds on the metal detecting podcast circuit a few years ago. Judging by the info in the other thread, it doesn’t seem like he’s experienced a health emergency. All that said, his failure to deliver coupled with the lack of communication is a fundamental violation of FTC regulations if it has been over 30-days since orders were placed, and can carry some stiff penalties if someone chose to pursue action:

Someone on this forum or another stated that his 3D printing equipment was damaged in a fire last fall.

Not making excuses here. Currently, his communication, wait time, etc, is abysmal from what is being reported on this and other threads.

I have one of his products. It works okay but the quality of the plastic is not very good.

Got 2 emails today...item is being shipped w/tracking # and a partial refund...shipping costs. That's all I ever wanted from this guy in the first place was a confirmation email on shipping. Just hope the others who have waited longer than I receives theirs.
 
I ordered a charging clip a week ago and got nothing from him yet. I did send him an email but no response. Now the wait game.
I stopped ordering anything from him. Way too many complaints online on every forum and Facebook. My remote mounts melted in the 95° sun here in coastal Alabama so they were junk anyway.
 
I ordered the Deus 2 charging clip, and like all the others, I got no communication and it took forever to ship. He issued me a partial refund due to the slow shipping time. After a long wait, it finally arrived and I’ve been very pleased with it. Much easier to use than the OEM clip.
 
I had ordered one and did not receive looked on credit card statement got his phone # for his business but it was his wife's # he just happened to answer . He told me he was closing the company and said would refund my money which he did I would never would of talked to him because he did not have a phone only his wife's .But he did mention someone might be buying the company from him this was 5 months ago . sube

Well I never heard back about my order. I see now his website is blank. No items available. I filed a claim with PayPal and it immediately told me my refund was on its way. I would of rather had the item but the purchase was already flagged for refund providing I ask for a refund.

Very true as far as being easier to use than the stock butterfly clip especially if like me, you put on a third party coil connection centering device. That usually partially blocks the butterfly clip to charging cable area.

Mine was slow arriving a couple of years ago and basically fell apart the first time I used it. I just glued everything back together and so far it has held up.
