Thanks everyone! Some great responses!

KT mentioned losing his high school ring but did not say anything about his college ring...Was bought in 71 by my parents...had a rounded ruby stone with engraved crossed pick and hammer for geology, and heavy 10K gold with U of Arkansas Old Main on one side and Razorback on other side...problem was the Razorback had a big tusk and would dig into KT's middle finger...so He did not wear it...finally had it melted down and made into a birthstone ring with a star ruby and two side diamonds...but then when that ring went to the jewelry store to be polished...the jeweler decided to recut the high dome star stone...when he did, it was ruined....KT took it and sold it for scrap gold when gold was around $1800 an ounce....bought a sterling silver large ring with a Linde red Star Ruby, ruby is KT's birthstone. Many ladies comment on how nice that ring is!
