It was foggy, rainy, and cool today. What better conditions for metal detecting/dirt fishing? Less potential for people to be at the public places so you can actually hunt it!
Today was definitely not stellar. However I did manage to find quite a bit of clad. 3 quarters, 3 dimes, 2 nickels and a mob of pennies (zinc and coppers). Found a fake ring, a washer and an odd coin. Someone had cut a cross in a penny. Any idea or reason why? *shrugs*
I did find a couple coins that were masked by iron. It was nice to find those considering the iron masking. The Legend will find things if you set it up right and learn it. All these coins have been missed by me over the years, especially the really crusty ones. They've been in the ground quite a while. Most were 4 inches or less, but one of the quarters was near 6 inches down and a dime was slightly deeper.
Would have kept on hunting but my arm was cutting up and the rain was coming down harder.
