Cleaning items you wish to sell.

Most of you will already know this, or have differing views.
Here in the UK, if you find something of significant value, or it is an item classed as "Treasure", you should never
try to clean it. If you do it can have a big impact on it's value. Always seek professional advice, and don't start
using household cleaners.
If it's something you don't intend selling, you can do what you like with it.
 
I always go with either the Brillo pad or the wire wheel. Once I can tell what it is....
ROOKIE! Next time try an 80 grit belt sander. Takes prize jewelry and coins to a whole new level. :rofl2: All kidding aside Alan speaks the truth. If you have to clean let's say an old coin, don't scrub it at all use mild soap and water, a very soft brush and pat dry.
