Cartridge Casing?

I know this is a bad photo, and I don't have calipers or a micrometer.... but at first glance, do these look like some sort of old carbine cartridge casing? Like maybe a Spencer? I have found several in the same field where an old homesite used to be (in the mid to late 1800's). Have also found a few eagle buttons around the iron patch, as if a vet lived there long ago.

Just from visual appearance and comparison with the dime, I agree, they look like Spenser Rifle rim fire cartridge cases.

As luck would have it I found a casing very similar to these this weekend as well. I will post a picture of mine this evening to compare. Mine is head stamped with a U (Union Metallic Cartridge Co.?)

Looks the same. I just don't have any stamps on the ones I am finding
