Can someone offer some help please?

When I had little ones the first place I would look would be through every trash can in the house, taking out every piece.
You might even look with a flashlight through the house at night with all the lights off. You might see it sparkle, just a thought. Good luck, and be sure to let us all know if you find it. The suspense is killing all of us!

My wife lost a ring for 5 yrs and it wasn't until we were moving that she moved the matress and found it in the corner of the bed frame... Look under the beds... that was always my girls' favorite hiding place for stuff... behind chairs, under kitchen table and most importantly the holy grail of hiding places... under the fridge. Think about the ring before you fall asleep... They always say that the last thing you think about before you fall asleep is what you will most likely dream about. Try bribing the kids for answers.... You'd be surprised how a promised trip to the toy dept can jar a memory... Check all gloves, laundry baskets, inside washer and dryer, and believe it or not.... as many typical 17 month kids.... the diapers... you never know if it was swallowed. You could scan the kid with a metal detector... that would be about the only use you'll get from one unless you lost it in your yard. Or, clean the house just like you did before and try to retrace your steps, the repetition of the whole thing could make the answer pop in your head... Were you eating anything, chewing gum, or listening to your Ipod while working... All of those are amazing at kickstarting memories... sounds odd, but it's true.

Help

I'll tell you a True story: I lost two wedding bands at the same time! They were lost for 10 years--We looked everywhere for those rings- I was really upset, The gold one was 14K and the whitegold one was 14k. Out in the car and in all of the rooms of the house.--One day our dryer went on the blink and my nephew came over to work on it. He had to pull the tub and guess what was in the floor-You got it-Both rings along with 35 dollars worth of change- most of that was quarters :lol::lol::lol: I had given up on those rings for ever.:lol::lol:--

Your never know where they might pop up!!!!!!!!!:lol:

$35 in change??!!!?:wow: Must made a racket in the dryer drum!!:lol:
Hope you find your ring stacems3, it sucks to lose something like that. As an "old school" Catholic, we would always pray to St. Anthony for lost things, and believe it or not, it worked!!

This one is somewhat embarrasing to admit... When I first met my wife, we had dated for about 3 weeks and I had lived in the ultimate Beefcake Bachelor Pad!...lol It was a one room converted tack house with the bedroom in one corner, living room at the foot of my bed, dining room on the opposite corner by the couch and the kitchenette just behind the table... Well I had two couches, one to watch tv on and the other doubled as a dresser..lol I'd come home from working at dominos and would inevitably have change in my pants. As I'd take my close up and hang them on the davenport/dresser...change would fall on to my linoleum floor and scatter.. So, My wife decided she was going to clean the $162/month palace and brought along her mom and her grandma while I was at work to "surprise" me.... well, Nothing like having grandma going through your bachelor pad let me tell you... anyhooo... she brought along a large dill pickle jar and started gathering the change..... oh yeah, filled it! In total just over $93 in change off of my floor....sad I know... over a half months rent on the floor.... It's amazing she kept me!

Update....

I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and encouragement. It's always intimidating going to a new board, not knowing what the general atmosphere of the forum is. I usually stick to my parenting board :) But you all have been great. I took most of the suggestions and tried them. Had a good laugh at your stories, and Seabee.....I think God finally got tired of hearing my voice, lol.

Yesterday, I went grocery shopping and was cleaning out my bread and cookie drawer. I went to move the strawberry wafers and about had a heart attack! There glaring up at me, was my beautiful ring!! I am soooo soooo happy right now.....cookie drawer-my 17 month old has been a cookie monster lately. But I didn't know she was getting into them herself. I thought my 3 year old had been getting them for her!!

Thank goodness, they postponed my job interview that was supposed to be yesterday morning until Monday afternoon. I was't able to prepare for it b/c I was so nervous about this ring. So, now I have a clean house, my ring, and time to prepare for this interview!!

Again, thank you all sooo sooo much!

Dh is wanting a metal detector btw....I might just stick around if you don't mind and get some ideas :D

I've been following this story with interest and its great news that your young daughter traded your ring for a strawberry wafer :) I used to love those until I graduated up to peanutbutter ones ;)

Thanks Ed....yes, it's a huge relief. The college told me that I could replace it for a little more than a hundred. But this ring is a really big deal. We have a ring ceremony at the church and everything for it. So the sentimental value wouldn't have been there. I'm soooo glad it turned up when it did :)

Thanks Rudy! I need all the luck I can with this interview. It's a screening interview for my school corporation. If I don't make it through this one....have to wait until next year :) I will do it!!!!!!! lol

seabee....yes, I do believe in the power of prayer. I looooove Bruce Almighty and I always think of when Jim Carey can hear all these people praying at the same time, lol. These last few days, every time I pray, I'm thinking....geesh, should I really be bugging him for something so silly when others need food on the table :( In any case, I'm glad her heard me!!

Thank you PI :) I personally love the peanut butter ones too....smothered in chocolate....mmmmmmm

Stace, buy him a box of Reese's and you can take him home with you.

Hope you find your ring. Not pointing a finger, but when we were potty training our youngest, I left my wedding ring by the bathroom sink and the kids flushed it. Hope you have better luck than I did.
