Att. Kansas Hunters

Bluff City

Everyone got away before I could arrange anything, so I decided to check out the park at Bluff City. I knew things had changed when I saw a deer watching me as I got out of my car. I found that...

It's grown over a little.

This is the shelter house

Swing set for the kiddies

The rodeo arena and the field where I found a silver ring the last time that I was there.

There is a clear(?) area where someone had run a brush hog through. The stubble is about four inches tall. Hard to swing a detector close to the ground. You can hunt in some areas by following the deer trails and those made by horses pastured there. (The electric fence isn't on.)

In town, the school is now the Senior Center

There is a church still being used.
The park itself is like hunting in the woods. I'll try again this fall with my XLT. It should give me more depth. I did find a coin probe. Mine! A vine grabbed it out of my belt.

They've pretty much let the park die. What a loss!

My GPS took me down some questionable roads. The maps are so old they show Runnymeade as a town. I also went through Freeport.

The only business and it's abandoned.

There is what appears to be a school that sits back from the road. I don't know if it's still used or not. It looked like it was being taken care of. next time I'll take my other camera or else get a larger memory card for this one.

Thank's Dave, I had a great time looking around some of the old home site's even if they where a little "weedy" Sorry you didn't find any silver, I was hoping you would have. I managed to find a pocket spill of sort's, I found a "40d" wheat and a "36" buffalo also a couple of merc's "27d","40d" all in a 2 foot radius.Other than that just some clad and a pocket spill of prayer token's? three in the same hole.Like silversmith said I am up to anywhere you guy's want to hunt next weekend if you guy's want to get together.Hartford looks interisting ;)

This evening we took a ride to Hartford which is just south of Neosho Rapids bout 8 miles off of I-35. We drove around town and see they have an old school but the grass looked a little high. There are also several old churches. But what got my attention was the park. Along side of the park was an old stone building that had College Building 1861. This might be a good spot. Anyone interested in joining me?

As for as I know I am free Thur afternoon through the weekend. But the wife hasnt told what I am doing yet:lol:

By the google, It looks like your building is at the corner of Park and Park Ave. Thats where I will be @ 9:00am. Hopefully all the Kansas Hunters can make it. I heard through the grapevine that Girldigger and hubby might show up. I'm looking forward to meeting them both and Silversmith will be catching a ride up with me. I think Sovuser is going to try to make it as well. See ya all there!

Thank for the info Dave. Poor old brain cant remember much anymore:lol: Hope they do make it be nice to meet some more folks

Okay sorry it looks like your building is at college and e. park ave. That park looks like a nice place to hunt for the day. Nice job scouting that out booker.
