It's good that they are making changes based on the field test. I have an AT Pro which I like but I have complained about it being too delicate and breaking a lot when used in the wet, muddy and rocky areas that I hunt in sometimes but I might get an AT Max once they are released and I hear some user reviews.
The AT Pro works well when it's not broken and and I don't feel like learning to use a completely new machine. I will just keep the ATP as a backup.
