Around a week ago he posted a video saying he is quitting you tube because he is not having fun no more but would be in other people's videos. Since that video he has put out a couple more of him exploring and detecting. What the heck is the deal with this guy done or not?

He posted that video on April 1st.

He must be down on views, threatening to quit likely was a move to get more viewers. I know it sounds ridiculous, but you'd be surprised what people will do on YouTube to get more views/likes/subscribers... I would rather watch paint dry honestly

It was an April fools joke.
He not long ago broke 1 million subscribers. I think he's doing fine on views.

Oh no kidding well that's awesome! The cache in the river was the only video of his I ever found interesting. Apparently his April fools joke worked then

It was his April Fool's Day joke.....

I have watched a few of his videos. I do not subscribe to anyone's YouTube videos. Most you tube videos about detecting bore me to death with their long nonsense lead ins. They spend a minute or more with fluff just to make them longer.

Ive watched a dozen or so of his vids, and can think of only about two where he found some great finds. He does point out some of the historical aspects of the sites he hunts, and what to look for on the ground which adds some interest.

But when the snow is a foot thick, and Im bored, I tend to watch other MD you tube channels.

He got me then . Seems he digs mostly junk.

The guy amassed a pile of desirable relics and old silver and copper long ago. I suspect he still finds plenty, but would be bored with one show and tell video after another. His focus is on the adventure and history, as well as camaraderie with other hunters. He's never delved much into instruction, other than how he reads a property, coin cleaning and relic identification. I'd also say he's not real technical when it come to his metal detecting skills, so he probably doesn't have much interest in putting what he knows into words.

I have watched alot of his videos and he has found some amazing relics and coins. But lately it seems that he digging mostly junk. But i guess if you've found as much as he has something different is fun i guess . I love his boat (mokai) . I might try and put something similar together this summer. It would make exploring here in the U.P alot easier.

Yep, Youtube pays around $7.00 per 1,000 views. At least it was that way several years ago.

Maybe he will get a new Apex in a couple of weeks.
