I can't stop others from detecting the places I hunt BUT, I'd prefer to NOT have others detecting my favorite spots.

Of course. 2 friends and no one else. If i get a promising spot I might hit it by myself first.

No worries. I even direct folks to some of my spots. How many mercs can a person covet?

.....I noticed they were not using very expensive detectors for that video

.....maybe what you don't see is the guy relaxing on a beach chair laughing because he already hunted the beach a few hours before

I don't seem to have to worry about competition in my small town, I have yet to see any other detectorists out detecting when I am out detecting, maybe the detectorists in the area feel like they already hunted out all the local areas long ago
