In Memory Of
I enjoy reading all the more experienced detectors posts. It gives me hints and ideas as to better my own finds. I am not in the older part of the country like in the east and north or south, where the history is much richer and older then here.
But, I still believe there are great finds out here for me, I just have to keep hunting and researching the local history. Thanks to Digger and all the others who are willing to share their knowledge with us new guys!
HH!
Where I live we are severely handicapped as far as depth because of our devil soil.
A few pockets of good soil here and there, but that is rare.
I decided when I started and realized that it is going to be difficult to get down deep enough to get those old coins like others in this country that are blessed with good soil, that I would hunt clad, jewelry...anything and everything.
I have done very well, had a lot of fun, found some great stuff, lots of clad, a few relics, pins and medals and knick knacks of all kinds, and even a few silver coins.
The several silver and gold rings I have found made it even better.
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
