Congrats on reaching another milestone Trapper! That seated quarter is a great find as well and still eludes my bucket list. You're quickly closing in on my YTD silver total of 112. GL & HH!
Thank you Jeffery. Took 11 years to dig that many coins. Hope to add a few more before the end of this year. TrapperThat's a lot of silver Congrats!
Thanks Tom. Seemed like this milestone was never going to get here this year. I hope my health stays as I'd like to see a few more milestones fall before I give up the ghost. TrapperCongrats Trapper! What an awesome milestone!
Are you trying to laugh with me or at me. You know very well, that the purple fedora goes with my doubled knee patched jeans and my green mud boots. It fully completes the assemble, making me a real eye sore and keeps the public at a distance and that is great for non-interruption detecting. TrapperThat is a small fortune Trap, just think of the big “silver boom”! If it goes to a couple hundred bucks an ounce you could get fancy rims for your truck and big FORD stickers and fuzzy dice....we’ll have to call you the Coin Pimp!
Amazing stuff...and think, there’s more out there somewhere to find than we can dream of. It’s tough,it’s hiding,it’s deep,it’s all those things. But they all can’t hide forever, not with the Pimp in town. Just don’t wear your purple fedora tomorrow if we’re going to Washington Park, you’ll piss someone off for sure...
Thank you Max, your comment is appreciated. I hope there will be a few more milestones in the future, have already added a few toward the next goal. Trapperthat goal is very impressive. I mean making that goal is very impressive.
Thank you John for such kind words, they are truly appreciated. It is a goal on every hunt to dig at least one Silver coin. While I have failed in this many times the success has been the true driver in what appears to be a lofty number. You are right as it has been a dedication over the years to maintain that drive and it is my hope the fire will continue to add count in the future. TrapperCongrats on all the silvers! The photos speak volumes of your dedication and determination to meet your challenging goals.
Thank you Mark. I'm not sure about grace or humility as what I post is the success. I should post the nails and other tidbits of the trade that seems to out number the Silver I have dug. As for the Seated quarter it did get its own acclaim as it is posted in IDX Monsters Wisconsin's oldest coin contest. It is at the present time holding the leadership position. TrapperJUST OUTFRIGGINSTANDING JACK ! My hats off to you. Awesome achievement. And you do it with grace and humility. By the way the seated could rate a post of its own. She's a beauty. Good luck Mark
Thank you I think Wayne. Don't think my Wife would allow them on the bed unless I cleaned and sanitized each and every one. TrapperCongrats Trap!!!
Now tell me, those coins aren't really shiny anymore are they? They are dull from them being spread over the bed and...well I'll just leave it at that. Right?
Appreciate you response. It is a lot of Silver for sure and I hope health and long life allow me opportunities to continue adding to the count. TrapperI can’t imagine that amount of silver ~ congrats!
Thank you Carl for your reply, it means a lot to me. The number represents a lot of time spent and some great adventures over the years. I have high hope that I can still add a few more cherished memories to the total. TrapperWow man congrat's That's a huge number.
Appreciate you response Andy. After last year it seems a bit slow to me but the reality is it is getting tougher to locate those Silver coins still out there. Seems I have to travel further to find sites that may hold a few of the shiny coins. TrapperTrapper, As always big congrats ! great job and it looks to be another great year for you in the silver dept...Keep up the great work...HH !
Thank you John for the smiles. Just at bit of enlightenment, when I played ball there it was after my day's in the service. I was already married and the game left me before I was 23 or 24. Had figured out I could make a lot more money playing with the critters and stepped away from sports. I also boxed during those days. Those days it was still all wood bats, heck we had to cut the trees and carve them before each game. TrapperLove the write up! What an ideal metric to find that coin where you also had a long ago memory associated! You may even have lost that dime yourself or known the kid who dropped it in the location where the Good Humor Man rolled up! Or maybe the Farrier out to fix a flat on 'Ol Dobbin? Or a Tinker? or a Seamstress? Or the Cobbler? Or the guy selling carbide for the headlamps at the night games?
What were baseball bats made out of back when you hit your Home run Jack? Dinosaur bones? Mammoth tusks? Narwhal horns? Petrified Walrus peckers?
Kind words Trevor, thank you. Quality hunts are more important than the numbers. Some of my best hunts were because they were shared with great friends and not from the finds. I will make the effort to reach the 1500 plateau yet this year but we will see. TrapperCongrats! I think my career total is still under 100 silvers, you smashed my career total in about a year haha. Keep after it and I know you will hit that 1500 mark soon.
Appreciate the comment, thank you both. This took eleven years to accomplish with a lot very fine adventures. This hobby became an addiction and Silver seems was the only satisfaction of my thirst. TrapperNow that's a milestone! Congrats Trapper!
Thank you Jason for your support and acknowledgement. Coming from you as you have already been here it really means a lot. That tearout where the Seated came from was just a lucky break. Just being in the right place at the right time. That gravel parking lot is not a place I'd like to go back to. My hands a wrists still ache from it. As far as reaching 1500 I have hopes to do that before the end of the year. TrapperCongrats on the milestone buddy! That seated is really nice and way to go remembering that gravel parking lot. I’m sure it won’t take much time to get to 1,500 silver coins.
Thank you for you reply Nails. The record keeping was the easy part over the last several years as I always make a end of year report so it is always documented. TrapperWhat a great milestone, but I also have to applaud your statistical record-keeping. Great job.
Appreciate your response Jerry. Once I started digging Silver somewhat regularly I made that the intention of every hunt since. Still dig some clad as it presents itself along the way but seems I pass it up more these days, specially if it is shallow. TrapperCongratulations Trapper that is an amazing amount of silver coins.
Thank so much E-trac for your reply. I hope to get to a couple more goals yet this year. TrapperOutstanding !!!
Appreciate the response Sandy. was a lucky site find on digging the Seated Quarter. Hope a few more of those type sites pop up in the future. TrapperCongrats on the great hunts, that seated is pretty sweet
