I have never been skunked so bad in my life. My wife laughed sooooooooo hard at my misfortune!

Oh well, as an older gentleman I used to work with used to say
"It just bees that way sometimes."

I guess that's why they call it Coin Roll "Hunting". Sometimes you hit the jackpot and sometimes you get nothing.

Now I just need to get my local banker (my wife) to order me a few more boxes.:D

It's all part of the game.

I hit the dimes consistently during the last seven years, well over one hundred grand worth, had some skunks, but my average stayed the same over the course of the years - 1 silver dime per $150 searched.

About 20 minutes into the hunt my lovely wife yells from the other room "I don't hear you jumping for joy yet!" We both have the same sense of humor so I get a laugh out of all her teasing also! I would never tease her though.

I normally find at least one silver dime per $250.

But some boxes are better than average and some are worse.

A few months ago I picked up two customer wrapped rolls of dimes and I found two seated liberty dimes in one roll.

CRH'ing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get!!

Dimes are tough, I have stayed away from them myself. They are just so small... I feel like they have about as much silver as a quarter box but I can crush a box a quarters much quicker. Do you guys hunt dimes regularly or just strike your fancy?

I started back around '77, then quit for a long time and got back in seven years ago.

I think that I agree with you regarding quarter hunting, but I find quarters to be a bore, nothing but silver Washingtons if you do find a silver. With dimes, I find Barbers, old Canadian silver, mercs, proofs, and so on. I can search and reroll $5 in dimes in less than 10 seconds.

KT tried a couple of boxes of dimes....once. Got 2 silver rosies for the effort, but had to take the Royal Crown off and wear an Opti-Visor to see the darned things well enough to even edge hunt!:laughing: Never again! KT sticks with halves...even the dry silver run boxes yield something interesting!

I seem to normally have better luck finding more silver dimes than quarters.

It seems like the quarters are the hardest to find. I like the half dollars also, when you find a big hefty silver half dollar the smaller dime pales in comparison.

That said, I love all silver!!!!
