Well folks, you've now put up with me for a year :) First off, i want to thank the mods for the patience with me cause i know i haven't been the easiest member.

This forum has helped me so much! First, you all taught me how to use my junk detector well. (which turned this hobby into an addiction for me ;) ) Once i learned how to use it well i started finding so much stuff! Then a few months ago i realized that i definitely needed an upgrade (also because of forum members) and bought an F2 from Bart@BigBoysHobbies. Yet again, your advice proved beyond accurate! The F2 definitely changed my metal detecting career! Within a month I found my first precious metal ring (Silver), a feat that took me 4 1/2 years and definitely would not have happened had it not been for the F2! Also in the past year, I found my first three wheat pennies ever!

There is so much I could talk about, but i want to keep the post on the shorter end, so i'm just gonna mention a few names that i want to thank for their help in evolving my way of metal detecting.

Issac43 has been an awesome guy to talk to about MDing.

I've had a fun time talking with Itsaring about different fossils we've found here in Florida.

If it weren't for KingTotsalot I would never have started asking banks if they had half dollars to CRH and would never have found the 67 silver hoard from a local bank! (pictured below, 31 90%ers and 36 40%ers)

Obviously, Bart@bigboyshobbies, for the F2 which has been incredible!

Thommy, for helping ID and inform me on several artifacts i've found.

I've enjoyed looking at FlPhil's albums on the Third Seminole War.

I've enjoyed reading so many posts on here! There are so many of y'all that have helped me whether you know it or not. Thank you guys so much! I'm including pictures of some artifacts that i've found over the past year that i wouldnt have had it not been for coming to this site!

HH y'all!

~Donney

Congrats on a very successful first year! We've enjoyed watching you evolve. : ) There's always more treasures out there waiting to be found, so good luck on future hunts.

Congrats! Here's your toaster

:grin:Welp, if u made it this far I guess your here to stay so..... welcome aboard!

Where did you find so many halves? They are hard to find around here. The ring looks like a spinner ring where the center band revolves.

Haha I guess so :) I still remember well the first night I joined, and you were in chat to welcome me :)

I just got lucky man. Whenever I go to the bank I ask for half dollars but they very rarely have them. That time I got lucky and they had $50 worth of them! 67/100 were silver. Obviously someone dumped Grandfathers collection :D Surprisingly there were some newer ones in there (1998 was the youngest). And yes, the ring is a spinner. At first it was jammed (and i wouldnt have known about spinner rings anyways) but my G-ma told me about them and within a hour i dropped it on the patio carpet and the sand fell out lol We were all laughing

I like what you did with the button factory finds.:aok:

Thanks. To be honest, only the gited button is from that factory. I took this picture of all my buttons a while ago and didn't want to get it out of its frame :)

Congrats Donney on your great year of detecting and you faithfulness to the group. I hope next year I can have the success and make a one year post.
Gary

Thanks man! :) Good luck in your hunts as well! Gotta love this hobby! :)

Ya done good! Don't know if you noticed? But Florida is a tough State to detect inland. Most people quit after searching for a silver coin for months or years. I see someone about once a year detecting inland:lol:

Yes, the silver in here has been discouraging, but it doesn't outweigh the fun! :)
