As an animal lover, I'm also a stickler for what they get fed. Sounds like Storm is getting proper food, and it's obvious how much you care about Storm's well being. But, please note that milk (any dairy) is unhealthy for dogs and cats.

On a side note, cats are obligate carnivores. That means they must have a meat based diet not only to be healthy, but to survive. Feeding a cat a kibble based diet, will lead to an unhealthy and diseased cat. Even the cheapest canned meat based cat food, is much better for a cat, than the "best" kibble.

My suggestion Earl.. if you are not after gold then take up dirt hunting... silver is nice out of the dirt for the most part... out of water they are worth scrap prices or a filler if someone needs a specific date... Let me change your name to Dirt Master... it has a nice ring to it as well...

We don't spend the money we spend to go after silver and copper coins here Sonny

Agree on losing weight without exercise. Very difficult because we all need some cardio. But eating all these veggie/healthy foods is not for me all the time. But neither is processed foods , which is in darn near everything. I do like certain vegetables and make all types of salads as well. But over the last 4 years the prices are a joke. A 12oz container of fresh berries can be 6 or $7 now. Used to be $1-$2. Anyways , hope you get out doing whatever and lose some weight. Its great for the mind too.

Thanks for your input , ( SAD TO SAY nutrition guide lines for dog food- has the minimum nutrition value , maybe that's why some die early , get Cancer , had to put down my last Chessie at 7.3 years old due to cancer , didn't give Shogun any milk , Storm loves it but , I will eliminate it from his diet as it can lead to health issues , he is not over weight , nor have weak bones , energy level is high , let me say wright now he is a Perfect STORM , he will be pissed at me , If I don't give him milk , he comes to me won't eat , till he gets some , Ill cut it from his, meals , and I need to do the same , been drinking a lot of milk all my life , but have bad exema skin issues , a girl at the grocery check out said STOP drinking milk , she has exema to , it was the root cause , not only that I might be allergic to milk , not knowing for sure , I am sure that keeps- all the weight on my body , that needs to go , thanks Earl

After all these years of drinking milk , I am going to give it up for a month , between hard to loose weight / exema breakouts , I could be allergic to milk :( I will find out , as a girl at checkout at the grocery store has exema , she told me to stop drinking milk , I had 3 gallon of whole milk in my cart , this will be hard , maybe I try some plain yogurt , I also eat to much Cheeze , those two things , cut back on Cheeze , no milk , going to try !

Storm loves it but , I will eliminate it from his diet as it can lead to health issues
That's good to hear Earl!

Domestic dogs and cats get a myriad of sickening diseases that dogs and cats in the wild don't get. It's all because of a poor diet.

I'll stick my neck out even further, and say that pet kibble "food" should be illegal.

I love dairy (especially cheese), but I know humans and most animals, shouldn't be consuming it. Humans are lactose intolerant. Eczema is one effect of dairy. Gastrointestinal issues are another effect, among others.

Maybe try the non-dairy alternatives? I find they often taste just like the dairy products they replace. A good quality non-dairy cheese, tastes like cheese, and is absolutely delicious. Ditto for rice and almond milk.

ME TO , sad to say , there should be better guidelines for better pet food nutrition at a reasonable price ! AGREE 100%

It won't happen. Reason being, the pet food industry has deep pockets. Lobbying (bribery). It's all about profit over health. It's the same reason why milk is given at schools.

Just worried about calcium , not enough , I have 9 inch wrists , big boned , never broke a bone in my body , in my 60s , I don't want my bones to go faster than normal , I have been just recently cutting back on the sugar , high in milk , that will help , as sugar turns to fat !

The milk / calcium / bone thing, is a lie started by the dairy industry. In fact, cultures that consume very little to no dairy, have few (if any) issues with osteoporosis. The highest rates of osteoporosis are in cultures with the highest dairy consumption.

I'm heading out now, but I'll elaborate on that later.

Your property has history going back to the 1800's clean out all the modern trash and listen for deeper good targets.. No excuses, I am older than you and I still plan on dirt hunting now and then... I only have a month or two left of my beach season because I don't hunt during the summer... I have no interest in fresh drops..

I didn't ask for this tear in my MCL, its work related is my guess... no clue how I did it all I can say is I have been in pain and limping since November... my knee is better because I had a lot of fluid removed from the knee with tear in it... only thing I didn't like about it was that big long needle going in but I didn't feel it or the extraction the orthopedic surgeon knew what he was going then finished off with a cortizone shot again didn't seel anything...

Earl.. dirt hunting I only hunt private property.... the last place I hunted gave up 20 silver coins because no one hunted it before and it has a lot of history... I knew the history so I asked the current homeowner, I even shared my finds with him which he loved... gave him silvers, gave him copper coinage and artifacts I knew were from the original property owners...

Just get a trailer, take the blades off or your Scags Turf Tiger and put a few of your detectors on it and run it around the beach grandpa. .. swing a detector or take minature golf... jeez man you have more excuses than Doans has pills
