which model is currently selling the best?

Well,I was just thinking about the original post here, what machine is currently selling the most..Some folks have gone and made this a equinox thread, about personal perception on performance.
I’m sure there’s a thread somewhere about that, but this is a all machines made best seller I thought? I can remember just a year ago when the equinox came out, couldn’t get a 800 and if you did they were going for a thousand bucks on eBay,.. Now I see them in the classifieds just sitting, not being sold for $700,still new barely out of the box:
Best selling machine today? That's anyone's uneducated guess.

You keep saying that, but have never provided facts. Just what you're seeing in your area. We get it, you hate the Nox, or at least hate the people who like theirs. Even with your passive aggressive Nox Talk. It's time for you to let it go.

Considering how many Noxes have been sold new. There really are few used for sale.

In the states of California and Florida alone.
Wonder how many Noxes have sold new?

That’s a big chunk of USA’s population for just 2 states.

Beaches unlike parks, etc, replenish their treasures moreso, at least more worthy treasures on average.

I can’t wait for the next Minelab release after Vanquish.
To see who buys, and hear all the same naysayers again.

The engineers at Minelab aren’t playing reindeer games.

If the EQX series really is a POS, then all the other manufacturers should stand fast with their current models, right?
And they will keep selling like hot cakes, right? WRONG!!
They are in big trouble.
They better get to hatching new models and quick.

It’s takes more than purple hair to buy a detector. Lol
At least to me anyways.

Best selling right now is the Nox to experienced detectorist. That said more folk buy from box stores because most don't want to drop 500 bucks or more on a detector. There's a lot more folk considered the general public than experienced detectorist.

This thread morphed into which detector is better. They always seem to morph into who makes the better detector. That wasn't the point of the thread. I have multiple detectors and use them all and have used and sold some. Nox 800 is good in wet beach sand and on the water line but there are things it doesn't do as well as other detectors in the field.

When all is said and done, it's about how much fun you have and I'm having a blast. I wish the same for all of you.

Keep saying what? That this thread went another way than it was intended to? I don't get what your saying?
Ok, so if anyone is not onboard the nox train they're a hater:laughing:
Come on man, I said nothing hateful in my post..you guys are so sensitive that it's unreal about these machines..
Why don't you post some facts about what your talking about cause I have no clue?

Scuba just had a brand new equinox 800 in the classic and took it down yesterday cause he could only get a offer of $650..his words not mine..so that’s one fact.
And go back in th archives to February of 2018 when the equinox first was released to the public..ivery week one popped up used for sale for months, not for a profit either..Somtimes multiple were for sale..I already looked back so there’s your fact..

You sound like you have inside info on minelab..my only question is do you know exactly how many nox units have been sold? If the answer is no,, them your post is a uneducated guess.

Where did you get this information, or is this a guess? Have any Facts?

I've spoken with a few dealers and there is a dealer just north of Houston who said the Nox is by far his best seller. Parroting what some other dealers have told me. If you live in Houston and you want to hit Galveston beach it's a good detector. It's not the first detector I use though if I hunt demo lots or parks.

That said, it's not the be all end all of detectors. There are things the Pro does better. There are things the Nokta/Makro detectors do better. There are things the F75 does better. I'm finding in dealing with other guys around here that they don't always use their Nox for every hunt now that they've had it awhile and the newness has worn off.

Pinpointing isn't near as accurate as a Pro or Max and so on.

Kajunman, you hit the nail on the head, dealers close to the beach sell a lot and that makes sense since its great n low conductors and handles the sand well..And I’m not saying inland dealers don’t sell a lot either.Im just saying no body knows for sure the amount sold vs other units in the last year.
As for me not likening the machine that’s just not the truth..I just post when I see the same misinformation time after time..I don’t claim to know who is selling the most. But I’m sure no one else but Minelab,Garrett, fisher and whites could answer that.
Im not a hater and actually on the fence about getting a 800..Saw a great deal from the 600 with a free coil and even made a thread, great deal I thought..No,im not a hater of any machine, just misinformation like I said..Seems to be a lot of personal opinions and preferences that I don’t agree with so I post my own personal opinion,no harm done or intended..

I don't think you're a hater. It's not the best detector for every kind of hunting. It's just not. For under $1k it's the best beach detector if your beach is saltwater.

Thanks, didn't mean you though,,,,I was just putting that in the post..i agree tho about it probably being the best beach detector for the money right now

Actually the question that should be ask is, of all the detectors sold what detector finds the most and better finds?

Why argue over what brand or model of detector sells the most?

If the question was "which detector finds the most and better finds" the arguing would be ramped up to 100 times more than what it is now.

No, I have outside track. I have used the unit and others too.
Like I said let the other manufacturers stand fast as far as making better newer models and they’ll be left in the dust.

Good old analog detectors

Good mercy, I can remember when the Fisher 75 was the top dog at least you could afford the batteries, simple DEEP detectors like the Tesoro Vaquero that can still hit coins @ 12"on Super tune is still to be found.:wow:Now all brands are going high tech and costing thousands, the French started it all and now everybody is trying to keep up.Its one competition circle:yes:james45

This is actually a simple answer. The detector that swings over the most targets available on any given site. You can't dig it if it isn't there. $200.00 detector or 2K detector, if there aren't any targets you won't be digging much.

What does it matter what a person swings? I don't have a NOX... My Excal is top dog for me as is my MXT... all my friends hunt with the Nox and have told me to buy one... I don't see it as being an advantage over what I own now... My Excalibur is deeper than it... I took one of my friends with a NOX to my permission I missed two pennies but found a 134... that told me my detectors work and don't need to spend more money.

If you are a good hunter... it doesn't matter what you are swinging...

It's not as deep as the F75 in my soil down here. It doesn't hit silver as hard as a Pro/Max or the Nokta/Makro detectors. You can set up the Nox to be fast for masking but you can do that with the 75 and Multi Kruzer too. The Multi Kruzer in 3 tone is faster imo and since I own both detectors I'm qualified to say so.

The Nox is good for gold jewelry on the beach. It's not deep on gold but it will find the rings. The compressed number vdi has its advantages and disadvantages. On the beach it's good because most of the gold rings will be in a smaller window of numbers. However so will your trash. The advantage of a wider number vdi is trash is expanded over a wider set of numbers and you can dig more good stuff without the trash.

Conclusion, I'm glad I have all of my detectors because I'm not limited in my hunting. Look at a guy like Monte who is as qualified as anyone to have an opinion. He has many detectors for different sites. There's a reason for that.

This is blatantly false. People go to parks every weekend even when it gets cold. When the weather gets cooler/colder people aren't going to the beach so much and they darn sure aren't going swimming. There is a lady in our club who is retired, 99% of her hunting is parks. She has ring cases for miles full of precious metal rings.

Seriously, how many people do you know who go to the beach when it's 50 degrees and windy with a wind chill of 40 ? Parks in the city will never have the wind of the coastline. Yet you will still see people playing softball when it's 50 degrees in a park. You don't see people playing volleyball when it's 50 degrees on the beach.

Hi kajunman

Blatantly false?????

tnsharpshooter specifically referenced California and Florida beaches. Try finding a parking place at any public beach between San Diego and Monterrey on the weekend. You better get there by 8am. Same for South Beach. You would be surprised. I have hunted both areas between November and March and it is a circus on the weekends if the weather is halfway nice and yes they are playing beach volleyball and ultimate frisbee and surfing and............

If you are a good hunter... it doesn't matter what you are swinging...

Just not true at all...sick of hearing this mentality. Next someone will tell me that old green screen mac computer will do everything my smartphone can. I have compared wild signals my mx sport and nox 800 to many machines. at gold and pro, tesero, old minelab Excalibur(I think that's the 28 frequency one right?), and so on. Some machines simply can't see some the targets others can, even playing around with settings. Now this could be from many things including frequency used on machine ground mineralization and so on. My 800 found stuff the sport couldn't see, the sport found silver the tesero and the excal couldn't reach down far enough to, the excal is also slow as molasses, and the 800 was finding stuff in the trash it just had no chance of dealing with. excel killed the tesero and at gold in finding silver, and so on. Point is that it does matter what you are swinging depending on what you are hunting, and there are features on the new machines that the old ones simply don't have and will never outperform in certain situations. Recovery speed alone proves this a false statement.
