I Made It. Big Hunts Take Me Over 400 FTY

Wahooooo!!! Congratulations Trapper, AMAZING silver count for the year. That CTX3030 has been good for you !!!! You should hold a seminar so you can show us all HOW THE BIG BOYS DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice and kind words Jerry, thank you. If I was to hold a seminar it would for the support team. AirforceMike, Dewsweeper and IDX Monster. Those are the big boys, as each of them contributed to the success of this year. As for the CTX, in my opinion it is the finest Silver machine available to the common public. This machine justs offers so much. After four years and almost 850 Silver Coins with this machine it amazes me still and there is so much more that its capable of.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! Way to go. I knew you could do it. Congratulations.

Thank you Trapper. Its not the battle we fight but the end we seek. Somebody said that once I think. An amazing year for sure.I appreciate you support on my trip through it. A adventure I will not forget.
Awesome!!! Big congrats to you, Im officially jealous :D
Thank you for the kind reply. Jealous, well Salt don't be. The amount of hunts and the accumulation of hours. Some harsh conditions and the sacrifice of other activities has to be weighed. It is a amazing number no doubt. While these results and memories I will always cherish I will not travel this road twice. Trapper

Congrats Trapper👍🏻
John thank you for your reply, it is appreciated.
Wow for me too. I gotta hand it to you guys in the far North. You guys are dedicated or tough or both to get out in this kind of weather. Surprisingly it has been tough in the South this year. Not so much with the temperatures but with the rain and snow. Any way good luck to you guys. You got my respect. Great finds!
Thank you Haldean. Your very right about these guys up here. They are are hearty and dedicate group. None of them are afraid of effort it takes to find some success.
Woohoo! I knew you would do it. You're only the second one I know to surpass the 400 mark and that's an awesome accomplishment. People will be talking about this year of yours for a while. Congrats buddy!
Thanks Jason. I know you can appreciate the commitment it takes to put up big numbers, as you have been there. The other guy "Dan" is in a league of his own and I love to one day get out with you two and share a adventure or two. Thank you for the support that you have given in following the reports this year.
OK, a few questions beg asking.

1. Do you have children?

2. How many hours a week/month/year do you swing your detectors?

3. How in the world do you find that much time?

I'm a little OCD about keeping a journal of my finds, locations, and hours. I've got 77 hours of coil time this year, good for 35 silver coins. I'm trying to wrap my mind around how much coil time you get. Do tell!
I will do my best Brian to answer you questions. Children yes, 4 boys and a girl. All are over the age of 30. None with any interest in Metal detecting.

I averaged almost five hunts a week starting February 25th and logged over 500 hours by the end of July then I stopped keeping track. The time, I retired! How did I find so much. That started last year December when the decision was made to retire in Feb. I started by going over the sites I found some Silver success in the past, made a list of them and then researched and added a lot more older sites. I followed up by getting permissions on over 30 locations before I swung the detector. While I did not dig Silver on every site i hunted this year, every site had the history and capability to hold Silver. It was my job to put the coil over it. Trapper

OK, that makes sense, 500 hours by July  I'd have to check but I doubt I've got 500 hours in my career...

My kids are 6 and 1 so the best I can hope for is to get in a few hours every other weekend, maybe squeeze in a quick after work hunt when the sun isn't going down a 4:30.

Man, I can't wait to retire and hunt more. June of 2033 here we come

I don't know anyone who's found over 700 silver coins in a year like Dan, so yes he is in another league but you are right up there Trapper. I would love to hunt with you someday either out here or back by you.

Congrats on the milestone 400 trapper, that’s a lot of silver! What do you do with it all, you’ll need a brinks truck after a few years of that kind of a haul.Definatly a great way to end the year.

Congrats man, that's an AMAZING year!
Thanks Zee, I appreciate your replies. An Amazing year, I totally agree.
Well done!
Thank you Saoirse.
That is one amazing feat ! Many hours of digging and thousands of plugs. Congratulations on the the hard earned and well deserved 400 !
Appreciate your reply Jeremy. When you reflect the season in amount of plugs dug I get exhausted. But you are right about the many hours and effort. Trapper

Huge congrats to you Trap, to say that is an enormous accomplishment
is an understatement! Damn that's crazy!
Thank you Digger for those very nice comments. To say things went my way this year is a understatement.
Congratulations on a fantastic year ! I need to find two more silvers for my goal of ten . I'm keeping my eye open a spot that has a lot of potential but it's totally blanketed with knee deep Ivy and hellatious roots . The last time they cleared a smaller , similar spot there it paid off well .Keep up the good work !
Thank you Doc as your reply is appreciated. 10 or a hundred, it only matters to achieve the goal and that is success.
Ridiculously impressive!
I think I might have 10 for the year. Lol.
Thanks Ynnek for your reply. I'm was very lucky as everything fell right for me.
:okpeople: :dingding: Congrats, Trapper!:clapping::clap: What a milestone! :woot: I always love reading your posts and I look forward to your future ones. :research: It has been an amazing year for you, thanks for sharing it with us! :D Keep up the good work. :mder:
Some very kind words Wolf, thank you. I don't think that I could do it again as I think the grounds have been depleted greatly. Not only by me but the three guys I hunt with. Each of them hit the century mark also. Trapper

I’d just like to add quickly if I may without derailing anything...if people look at your signature which has the totals of this year and last year and the relationship of the ratios of each thing dug...it tells a very specific story of HOW this was done.
Never thought of or seen the coalition before Kevin but it is there.
A Epic Silver count in today's times! Big Congratulations!!
Thank you OBN. I appreciate your reply as you have been there and done that before.
:dgginahole::dingding:
Thanks Toasted, your response is appreciated.
Never a doubt! Congrats.
Thank you Jerry. You may not have but I had doubts right up until last Sundays outing with IDX Monster and Whats buried. Getting onto that site really opened the door. Trapper

Congratulations Trapper on reaching such an amazing milestone!
I don't think I have 400 silver in my 8 year career, in fact I don't
Thank you Matt. To say I have a passion for the shine would alas be true. Sprinkle in a little history and I am emphatic.
Wow ! I am amazed at your silver production for less than one year. Even if you don’t find one more silver in 2018, you’ll have averaged 1.106849315068493 silvers per day this year. I dare say, after detecting has been popular since... what? The 1950’s, not many folks in this day and age are going to find that many in one short year. That is very impressive, especially after thousands of TH’ers have been depleting the silver in the ground for that many years.
Do you have a breakdown, by denomination to share with your fans?

Hope you find a few more before New Year’s Day.
Jim
Very kind words Jim, thank you. I added four more today in a hunt with AirForceMike. He hit 100 Silver coins today FTY. In my end of year report I will picture all the finds and break it down. The only numbers I know at this time is I dug 11 Silver Half Dollars. 1 Seated, 2 Barbers, 4 Walkers, 3 Big Ben's and a"64" Kennedy.
So according to what I'm reading, you're over 80 years old?

That takes your already stratospheric accomplishment to a whole nother level.

I'd give you three cheers, but that's not even close to enough...:cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer:
I know I'm ancient Marco, but only in age (68), I can still move, maybe a tad bit slower than my youth. I'm pretty lucky though, the guys I hunt with are a lot younger than me so I only have to tie one anchor to my tail so the can keep up. Oh you ever get this way you would be welcomed. Trapper

Amazing, congrats sir that is one $#Ă·* of a year and I'm sure was due to your hard work, tenacity and skillset.

Again, we are not worthy, lol

You are the winner. Never seen anyone have a 400+ year before. Would love to see that in my finds bag and cant wait to see your year end pic. Nice work.

Congratulations! :hi5: ALRIGHTY THEN! Four hundred silver coins in one year is a monumental level to reach. You smashed it, and kept on going! I would not doubt you get a few more before the ball drops.
I just gotta get down there some time to hunt with you boys. I will likely do a road trip for a few days next spring.

My mistake Trapper, I thought someone had mentioned somewhere that you were an octogenarian.

Also I very much appreciate your generous offer to join you if I'm ever in your area. That would be a lot of fun and a major educational opportunity. Kind of like playing ball with Babe Ruth or maybe robbing a bank with Willie Sutton. Anytime I'm anywhere near the People's Republic of Wisconsin, I'd be honored to take you up on it!

Well done, you've had one hell of a year! 400 silvers is mind-blowing, good luck with next year and hopefully you'll get just as many! :)

In this day and age, that much silver is amazing. Big congrats!
Appreciate your reply Amc Rulz. Being retired and having a lot more free time my original plan was just to best my personal record of 232 Silver Coins. Things went much better than expected and on Sept 16th I passed the 300th level. Still I did not think reaching 400 would be possible. Some very late season breaks opened the gates. After yesterday's outing the count is now 408
Congrats on an epic season ! :run1:
Thank you E-trac, not only for this response but for the support throughout the year. It was very much appreciated. Trapper
