Yes, it's getting to be "that time of the year"

Where the heck is gas $1.79 a gallon!!! My whole adult life I’ve never paid less then $1.89 a gallon in Cali. Cali is the problem obviously. Going east the price drops the closer you get to Texas and the South.

That's discounted (fuel rewards points) price.

Some of us can remember gas and a pack of smokes both .25 cents

…..makes me so thankful I quit smokes way back when it was just 40 cents a pack, besides the potential health issues, people might have to work a part time job to afford to keep in smokes today

I quit this year, paying $1/pack. I rolled my own

$7 a carton here..

But you gotta make em..

<°)))>{

Dad would always try and get me to quit. I told him a carton was around $40 (at the time), and I was paying $10/carton, so it paid me to smoke

He didn't find it as amusing as I did. He'd be happy to know I finally quit.

Big congrats on shaking that monkey off!!

I quit every night..

Thanks! May 18th, 2018. Not one since.

$300 in groceries only last a week in my house :(

There's been times it worked-out that way, and it's just me

About the same here! Don’t know where it’s all going, all I ever see my 17 yo son eat is cereal, ‘course, anyone priced a box of cereal lately?

lol, As a kid, Dad had given me the nickname "Jethro". I think it had something to do with the size of the bowl I used for cereal.

One of the great things about being single.

I go to Wally World about 5:00 AM and buy the goods I'll need to hold me for two weeks, or next payday. I usually have a bill of around $60 and I'm good to go.

I as well refuse.

It used to be that business would strive for better service over a competitor, that's how they "won" your business ($).

Now, since the Mom & Pop stores have all been nixed, the large chains can all treat us like cattle, because there's no where else to turn. The competition has been eliminated.

Cut customer service, product size, keep or raise prices. Profit.

Reminds me when I was a young kid and full service gas stations were the norm rather than the exception. You would sit in the car while they pumped the gas, checked your oil and tire pressure, even washed your windshield as a normal part of the service, not something extra.

I like the dumpster tossouts more than off the shelf expensive deli freshies!...They just seem to be more tenderized and taste better! The expired expiration dated steaks? Slightly Moldy Bread? Yum friggin YUM! The older the better! Plus, its all FREE!! The 'Freegans' got this dynamic nailed down to a science which I am ascribing to in my retirement!...In conjunction with metal detecting for coins, a guy could live pretty large!

Sure beats the dented cans of Fancy Feast or smashed boxes of Ritz crackers! Although this is what I plan on serving the Inlaws for a succulent apparatif when they show up....Hell to the yeah! And freaking Banana bread? Dumpster is always full of shelf ripened bananas!

Old tenderized discarded stuff is easy on brittle old teeth, so I'm saving there as well....hell, even wiith no teeth at all, a guy can suck up nutritious dumpster juice with a straw! I dont qualify for EBT, so Shrimp and Lobster is off the menu, unless you count crawdads, which a guy dont need to buy..easy enough to find them around here in any rock laden farm field drainage ditch....

We call them "North American Tiger Prawns".....Well, I do anyway...and they are gosh darn succulent!...

I've eaten some pretty tough and shiddy 3 digit Kobe steaks at Mortons in Chicago while entertaining unappreciative and ignorant business people and left there feeling ripped...I've eaten a Belgian Horse in MN which was a way better conversationalist and more flavorful..fresh off the hoof....

Y'all know I pulled and gobbled up this wild butterball off the road a few years ago?! So yeah...Dumpster steaks! Plus, the damned grocery store is about 100 yards away from where I live, so I can walk over!..You think I'm kidding? They dont toss out expired cans of beer though...so thats not cool..

Looking forward to a big apple truck wreck this season..happens every year! thats always a welcomed seasonal windfall...
