I often wonder what was the favorite DEEPEST old detector . I guess there has to be a best one? Lets start from the 80's -----2000.
I am in south Texas close to the coast, what was average depth? Also did you use in water?Compass XP Pro - still the best discriminating detector I've ever used. Not great depth, but if it said it was a nickel, it was a nickel. I found more civil war buttons with that detector than the minelabs, White's, and Deus detectors I've owned since then.
Dime or penny with the 8" coil - about 6" deep. 12" coil, maybe 8". Same for buttons and minie balls. Maybe a little deeper on minie balls and quarters.I am in south Texas close to the coast, what was average depth? Also did you use in water?
Good mercy that was the top one to beat .Wish I could afford one.I don't go all that far back but of the ones I've owned since 2001 the Troy Shadow was my favorite early ones.
Here is another super one ,hardly hear about them anymoreNautilus 2b
