Ok, I got my Legend and it's charged and ready to be played with. BUt my immediate problem, along with just learning how to use the thing, is how to keep it safe when traveling to a hunt location. Nokta doesn't appear to have a case for it, and I didn't see anything I could use at Big Boys Hobbies (where I bought it). It really appears nothing is available that is actually designed for the Legend (if there is I couldn't find it).

So I have a question for you fine Legend owners / users, how do you carry yours around? Do I need to disassemble the shaft each time I want to put it into a case (since the coil won't swivel / pivot)? I find it odd that something so expensive doesn't come with, or have available, even a rudimentary carry case (both of my Amazon knock-offs do and they aren't bad cases). As always, I value your help and suggestions to keep this detector safe.** Thanks!🙂

** I have the control box cover and screen shields arriving tomorrow.

Thank you for the suggestion, VH. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, the detector is still to big. I have it as small as possible (without disassembly) and it measures 25 inches long (that's with the coil perpendicular to the shaft), and the control box is much taller than the bag you cite allows.

I put mine in a 24” tall backpack with any other gear I need. No need to disassemble it at all using the 6” coil. With larger coils you will need to remove the lower shaft. Nokta makes a very tall backpack that is more like 28” tall. Some taller tactical backpacks work really well too.

I use a Gator case, model GU-EVA-2816-4, purchased from ebay (I am 90% sure it was ebay). It is not a hard case, but semi soft. It It has foam lining. I have to take the lower shaft out, and it fits diagonally in it. Exterior size is about 17 x 29. IT has plenty of room for many other items too. Its cost is around $125.00 now days

At my local detector shop, I have seen an old Whites hard case used to hold one. If you can find one, they are often fairly inexpensive. PM me if you want info on that dealer's name.

Thank you Cook3. đź‘Ť I ended-up getting an airline travel bag for golf clubs. It's a soft bag that I plan to build a more rigid back / interior for. But as it is, the bag can easily hold two detectors (Legend and a backup) in strapped and semi-padded comfort. It has large exterior zip-pockets to hold my gear, and can accommodate the two coils I have. Lastly, it has wheels like a suitcase (I know, useless for the most part - but still cool to have).

My son used to play lacrosse in HS and hand a bunch of lacrosse bags.
I'm using one of the duffle style (backpacks are too small) and can fit 3 detectors in it with spare coils. Even has a waterproof compartment on one end.
I'll bet they're cheap if you buy used.
