I was on a trail run on an old forest road near my home when I spotted daffodils in the woods and upon checking them out found a cellar hole. Home was on map in at least 1932. I hiked 1 1/2 miles back in yesterday and planned on 2-3 hours but had to stop after an hour and hike back out to help family.
Tons of iron but pulled a ceramic doorknob and other odds and ends. The prize was this ornate iron piece 3 x 2 inches.
I think the mounting holes on top and bottom are key to ID’ing it. The decorations include one dogwood flower and leaves and scrolls. All help appreciated.
