Had a good hunt today with Highcap56 at Huntington Beach.
Saw several other detectorists and was afraid the beach would be picked clean. Still, I was able to pull out nearly $3 in clad. No jewelry, though.

It was great to meet a fellow board member and am hoping for more outings. I think he did better as he was hitting the party area near the pier. I had spent most of my time in the opposite direction. I'll let him post his results.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get another hunt put together. Hope to get more takers next time.

Thanks for reading.

3 bucks in clad is pretty good.
I would have have joined you but I only hunt in the wet or hard sand, the soft sand just kills my back.
Make the next one on a low tide:yes:

I did find the most at the event location down by the pier. One was a spill of about $1.25 .. 3 quarters, couple of dimes and nickles in one spot.

Was detecting in a fairly large crowd there but stayed out of everyone's way in the process and did ok.

Enjoyed meet up with Robin. Can't help but wonder if other of our members were there incognito. Some had some high-dollar gear. Definitely not rookies.

Probably west coasters. There is a club in orange county that meets every month and gives out awards for the most amount or best finds. Many wear the ball cap so they are easy to spot. They have good equipment and are serious about detecting.
I`m going to give it a shot at the same area this sunday. It`s a minus 1.1 tide at 6AM and with the heat this week it should be good hunting .
