Hit a lot of clad the other day so we went back to about the same spot. My wife just knew there would be gold there.
Yup! A nice 2.9 gram 10K ring. She pulled up a 16 gram sterling ring.
I got a necklace that made a nice deep tone on my excal. When I got to shore, I see 925, bummer. When at home, it was junk that was marked 925!
I always go home with treasure though. Today my treasure was in a yellow bikini!

:dingding:Congrats on the gold and silver! What's the world coming to when even 925 is getting faked?

uh... double check that necklace. It says P 925.

there is a remote (and I mean REMOTE) chance that it's platinum. You said, "got a nice deep tone" and the "P" together made me suspect.

Check it out!

Get a powerful magnet. If it moves in the slightest its stainless steel.

This necklace clings hard to a magnet, nothing slight about it! It scratches silver color but fails acid tests too. We call this type of junk "magic silver" because it would have to be magic to be real sterling and be attracted to a magnet.
