Hi all just wondered if there were any info or opinions on troy md'd

As of right now they aren't making any. Hopefully new ones will be out soon.

I owned the X3 and found it to be a good detector. It was lightweight, easy to use, deep and accurate. I sold it just because I like a ID detectors, they are what I learned with and am still learning.
I hope they come out with a new model also, hopefully an ID model.

I really liked the X5 but it needed the smaller coil on a lot of old, busy sites and the coils were expensive. Haven't got one now due to being in an old coal mining area and it loved really deep coal/coke etc.
XP came out with a similar but cheaper model and it can avoid the coal problem with a slight ground adjust offset or switch into a Tesoro type discrimination mode. You can detect in all metal with any degree of iron discrimination and have a choice of 2 or 3 tones. Just about finished the X-3 and 5's sales overnight but Troys machines remained better on the beach so more of an all round detector.
Next time round he's got to be thinking of adding tones at least . With production at a stop at the moment it would be an ideal time to pick up a bargain.
